Hi j_perez022,

Insert the memory card into a reader on your computer. Open My Computer. Right-click on the drive letter for the memory card. Select Format from the menu. Click on Start in the Format window. Proceed from there.

My camera won't download to my computer. I have been doing this successfully for 2 years. The only difference is i have formated the memory card recently.

How did you format the memory card?
If you used the computer this maybe the problem, new computers will use a file system called FAT32, cameras do not like this, they prefer FAT.
Try reformatting the memory card using the camera, this should rectify the issue.

My 2 GB Kingston memory card is locked. how to open it?

You'll need to reformat the card in order to reset the flash memory.

This is fairly simple to do. Simply insert the card into your card slot and go into My Computer (or just Computer in your start menu, if you're using Windows Vista or 7).

Next, right click on the icon that represents your card (this will be easily recognizable by looking at the capacity of the drive, it should be around 1.6-1.8 GB) and select "Format...". Format your drive using the recommended settings (usually FAT32, Quick Format) and you should be able to access it.

How to reformat kingston 1G memory card???

If you have a card reader, install the card and use "My Computer" to select that drive and "Format". Otherwise sometimes the device you are using the card in will have that option in it's settings.

if you did not change or put any password, just try to use the generic password as 000000 or 123456, if you can connect your phone to the pc, try to download all your files from the memory card to the pc and reformat your mem card

Xd memory card

A card access error may indicate that an xD-Picture Card memory card is in a write-protected condition. xD-Picture Card memory cards have a special protection feature to ensure that your pictures are kept safe. NOTE: During this condition, you can still use the printer for printing and saving photos from the xD-Picture Card to a secure location, such as the computer hard drive. To resolve this error, try the following:
  • Reinsert the xD-Picture Card memory card into your camera and turn on the camera. In most cases, the camera automatically makes the necessary changes.
  • Reformat the xD-Picture Card memory card. See the documentation that came with your camera for instructions on reformatting the memory card. Note that this process erases the pictures currently saved to your memory card. To save these pictures, transfer them to the computer before reformatting the memory card. Once you reformat the memory card, transfer those photos back to the memory card using the computer.
