Hi j_perez022,

Insert the memory card into a reader on your computer. Open My Computer. Right-click on the drive letter for the memory card. Select Format from the menu. Click on Start in the Format window. Proceed from there.

My usb is of 4gb and it is telling that it can t be formated what i should do for that

Hello sir/ma'am, hi, looks like your PC is infected with a malware type of virus that locks your flash drive, if you want your drive to be formatted, visit a friend with a good clean PC and an AVG antivirus intalled software, scan first the drive before reformatting.

My 2 GB Kingston memory card is locked. how to open it?

You'll need to reformat the card in order to reset the flash memory.

This is fairly simple to do. Simply insert the card into your card slot and go into My Computer (or just Computer in your start menu, if you're using Windows Vista or 7).

Next, right click on the icon that represents your card (this will be easily recognizable by looking at the capacity of the drive, it should be around 1.6-1.8 GB) and select "Format...". Format your drive using the recommended settings (usually FAT32, Quick Format) and you should be able to access it.

If you have a card reader, install the card and use "My Computer" to select that drive and "Format". Otherwise sometimes the device you are using the card in will have that option in it's settings.
