Question about Fujitsu (MHV2120AH) 120 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

Hard Drive is not reading

I removed my original Fujitsu hard drive from the laptop and when I am installing it again it gives a message "Operating system not found" on my laptop screen. When I checked my connections again I found pins on laptop and hard drive are not touching each other. How can I fix up this problem? Is there any pin connector available to fix up this problem?

Whoops!

Are the pins BENT out of alignment? It is SO easy to create this problem when connecting a drive.

If the pins are bent use the greatest of care putting them back in alignment with the other pins. Now carefully reconnect the drive.

Hope this helps!

NO BOOTABLE DEVICE

When the computer/laptop cannot see a boot file/disk on either the hard disk or floppy drive it gives an error message - "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press any key"

First thing, check to see if the is a floppy disk inthe floppy drive, if so removes this disk.

If there was no disk in the floppy drive then it maybe a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and re-seat the data cable on the hard drive and also where it connects to the motherboard disk controller.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect this hard drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.

A further check on the hard drive, remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port, if this computer does not detect it as an external storage device then the hard drive is faulty.

To get the computer operating again, install a new hard drive in your computer and then install Windows on this hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

Hi! Welcome to www.fixya.com.

Firstly, You need to check the boot sequence in the BIOS . Start your laptop then keep on tapping f1 or f2 then check the boot option. Make sure the Boot priority is the HDD. Secondly, Try to get reboot the computer to factory settings; 1 Ensure all Data is backed up, all data will be deleted.2 Please also ensure that all USB storage devices are removed before starting the recovery process
3 Restart machine
4 When your unit switches back on, wait for the ACER screen then hold down alt & tap f10 repeatedly..
5 Please wait a moment until prompted, -How would you like to restore?-
6 Please select -Restore system to factory default-
7 Enter your defined password or enter six zeros '000000'
8 Click ok
9 Please wait until process completed, this will take 45min - 1hour

ALL personal information on the C: Drive I.E photos, programs, music and documents will be wiped when the above steps are taken. Files located on the D: Drive will be safe from the procedure.

Laptop not working Packard bell message on screen says BOOTMGR is missing

HI

I Think the laptop is trying to read the hard drive to boot up and its got a problem reading it

it may be worth turning off the laptop unplug the power core remove the hard drive from the base of the laptop usually only one or two screws to take off the cover and normally quite easy to remove

then try to start up the laptop
then turn off again
give the hard drive a quick blow over the connections
replace the hard drive
and try to boot up again

if this dont help

press power up key as well as the F8 key
this will hopefully take you into the repair options
and try the last good known configuration
or
repair my computer

if this does not work then the hard drive may be corrupt of dead

which is not good new if you havent done any backup disks or have any recovery disks
or a operating system install disk

hope you get it sorted

I have a FS Lifebook E4010 typ laptop. Recently the HD was changed to a larger one, and XP Pro OS was installed on it. Now the booting process starts, and after 5...10 seconds breaks, and starts again,...

The replacement hard drive sounds defective, remove hardware and re-seat it back into place, If there is still no change remove the hard drive take it to where it was purchased and have them test the hardware for issues.

When i format my laptop it gives an error message that the hardrive is not installed

Most likely your hard drive has died, taking all your data with it. Nothing you can do to fix that apart buying a new hard drive and reinstalling Windows on it.

Hi when I turn on my fujitsu amilo pro v2055 it says operating software not found. Can anybody help

The operating system software is stored on the hard disk. The computer cannot detect the hard drive and therefore cannot load the operating system. It could be that it only needs reseating to get it operating again, if that does not work it could be a faulty disk drive or a faulty disk controller.
To test if the hard drive is OK, remove it and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug this adapter and drive into a working computer's USB port. If this computer see this as an external hard drive and you can view the contents of this drive, then it is OK. If you cannot see this drive then it is faulty.
You need to replace the hard drive in your computer and install Windows again to get an operating computer again.

Operating system not found.

The hard drive has either been damaged and can't be read, or its connection was knocked loose from the motherboard. Open whatever cover necessary on your computer to get at the hard drive and make sure any connecting cables are properly seated. If the drive was damaged by the fall you will need to replace it and restore your system.
