Question about Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Calculator
I changed the batteries in my TI 83 and when I went to turn it on, the entire screen was black. I tried leaving them out for a few hours, doing a few different resets, and now, since I replaced the back up battery too, it doesn't show any signs of life when I turn it on. I know the batteries work since I plugged them into another TI 83 (great, I have two and neither works!) but I can't get any life out of this one. Any help would be fabulous!
I was having the same problem...I found the info below on another blog and it helped me fix my calculator problem. Take out all the batteries, hold the DEL button and put the batteries back in (keep holding the DEL button until all batteries are put back in). This will restart the calculator and restore it to its default settings...but it makes it work again!
"Reflashing the OS is probably the thing to do now. I think there's some trick that throws the calc into OS receiving mode. Hold down DEL while putting the batteries in? I don't remember if that's it. Go to 1-800-TI-CARESemail@example.com if you need specifics on getting the calc to take an OS upload given the state it's in."
