Question about Acer Aspire 5500 5570-2609 Laptop
My ACER laptop has been stuck on the same screen for more than 5 hours now. This is what the screen says :
"Configuring Updates stage 3 of 3: 0% complete
Do not turn off your computer"
All of a sudden the 0% will change to 83% and a few seconds later, a screen will come up saying "shuting down.." The computer will restart, and will go right back to the "Configuring updates" screen.. This has been going on for most of the afternoon.. Also when its on the Configuring updates screen, I am unable to use the mouse pad.
(I'm using another computer at the moment)
If anyone knows whats going on with my computer, or knows how to fix it, PLEASE let me know!
(It's a newer laptop too. Just got it in August 08. It's an ACER with the media bar on the left hand side. )
Reboot your computer and when the message appears at the desktop that there are updates available, click on the link to see what updates are available. Make sure any third-party antivirus and firewalls are disabled. Uncheck any that are "Optional" unless you really think your system needs them. Try installing those that are critical/important first, and leave the rest for afterwards.
