Antenna rotator motor failure?

I have a channel master 9521 antenna rotator and would like to see if the motor is still good. I do not have the controller for it. I would like to know the input voltage into the motor itself and possibly look at a wiring schematic for it so I know which of the three connectors are volatage inputs and which one is output or ground.

If the motor is fine, I can get a controller. If it is bad, I'll need to order a whole kit. I don't have money to waste and must make the right decision the first time.

Thank you for your help.

I've bought three similar units. One was bad out of the box (new from eBay!) Another failed after only a few months service. I've swapped controllers so I suspect the problem lies with the rotator motor and gearing up at the antenna.

A local tech wants $30 just to check it out. With packages at $60, it hardly pays to fix them nor to continue to buy replacements!

SOURCE: RCR460 with Emerson Tv doesnt change channel to input sources

found the answer but it doesnt help.......i got the number to who makes RCA remote controls and called them and talked to tech support to see what i could do for this problem. According to them, some universal remotes are compatible with most tvs but sometimes the remote can only give you the basic functions (chan up/down, volume up/down, #'s, mute an so on.) i dont really understand why it wouldnt work for the input channel but i do know i have a lower end and low priced tv. so....just like everything else the more you pay...the better it is. I checked the remote on my other tv in the living room and everything works just fine, even the input button. Hope this helps...

Has this installation previously worked or is this a new installation?
Sounds like it may be in the rotator itself.

My antenna won't rotate and I now receive only local channels

There could be a problem with the wires going from the control box to the rotator, or the remote itself

Good luck,

Cannot get NBC on my channel master

Your signal strenght is too weak either try moving the antenna to a different location. If that doesn't work then you may need an outside antenna. The link below will tell you what stations are available at your address and what type of antenna is necessary.. TV Fool

I moved and cant figure out how to hook my 4030 channel master antenna up again. I have a converter box and hd toshiba tv

INSTALLATION

Channel Master by PCT indoor antennas are designed to provide optimum reception of

UHF / VHF and FM signals. These antennas have 75 ohm outputs, which allow simple,

hassle-free connections to today's newer TV sets that have 75 ohm F type connector

inputs.

Simply attach one end of the supplied 6' cable with F connectors to the output of the

antenna (Fig.1). Attach the other end of the cable to the input of the TV set or VCR

(Fig. 2). Some adjustment of the antenna might be necessary for optimum viewing.

Model CM-4030 includes a built-in amplifier and separate power supply.

1. Follow the same steps as above for antenna to TV / VCR hookup. Note : Model

CM-4030 also allows for two set / VCR hookups with its unique dual output feature.

2. Insert the power injector into the back of the antenna (Fig. 3). Plug in the power
transformer to the closest electrical outlet (Fig. 4).

The channel master locked up so I unplugged it. Now, when I plug it back in it just sits and says loading Chanel master tv but does not load. What should I do?

I have 3 of these 7000pals and 2 have done a similar thing, one of them did it twice. After the loading channel Master screen hangs for a time, they would restart. Then the same cycle would keep repeating. It seems like after years of adding and deleting timers, the DVR's software gets "confused". I've noticed twice it happened on the hour just as a program timer started while I was watching a program through the DVR. ZAP...Locked up! The power button would not even work to turn it off.

The steps below fixed all three instances of this failure.

To unlock the Channel Master CM7000PAL DVR:

1. Unplug the recorder from the wall outlet and DISCONNECT THE ANTENNA. Now plug it back into the wall power outlet.(This will keep the recorder from freezing and rebooting)

2. let it go thru it's normal bootup, tv guide search, etc.

3. When you are able to, hit MENU and then go up to TIMERS. Delete all of the record timers. Unplug it, reconnect the antenna, and plug it back in.

4. After a now a proper bootup, re-program you timers and you will be good to go.

5. And the best thing is, all of your pre-recorded shows will still be there on the hard drive.

I would suggest that you do a yearly "TIMER CLEAN" to avoid this trouble in the future.

26" ILO digital T.V . won't pick up digital signals w/digital antanae.\r\nusing air in setup

So called digital antennas are generally a gimmick. The important factor to receiving stations is the antenna position and strength relative to the incoming signal. (Digital signals are either enough for the tuner or you get "no signal".)

Look at antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to find out what stations are likely to be received in your area and the direction to rotate the antenna; plug your address in the search area. Antennaweb is very conservative in its channel list even though it assumes an external antenna. Tvfool gives a list of the channels you should get with various antennas (labelled by color). This is a standard label that will be on the antenna specs or box (at least on good antennas). Tall buildings and trees in the area can reduce the channels you receive.

Adding an amplifier may help you gain signal strength for borderline stations (or if you split the signal to several devices).

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(My house has an external antenna with an amplifier/splitter. Antennaweb suggested that we'd only get the stations from ~10 miles away. We get those stations and the ones from ~30 miles away with the antenna rotated for the further stations.)

Rotor not turning antenna

Most rotors have a brake, if yours has one, you have to hold the brake down then rotate.
