If you put your knee under the drum while your arms are inside the dryer, you can line up one. You could also duct tape one screw in and stand over the dryer to line it up. Then once lined up, manouver your foot or leg under the drum.

Why does it sounds tumble irregularly and clicking?

Dryers have a weld line that holds the drum together and this weld line can make a rhythmic "thump-thump" as the unit runs and the weld line bumps over the drum support wheels, I would inspect the drum for a crack at the weld line, and inspect the wheels to see if they are in good condition otherwise it may be a normal noise.

My dryer is leaking water at the inlet , i disconnected the water supply going to it, the dryer functions, but no steam option, and what is broken to cause it to leak?

I would start by redoing the connection at the dryer. Should be a hard plastic line with a nut and a ring (ferrel). You will need a new ferrel. Slide the nut up the plastic line and cut the line on the nut side of the line. Slide the new ferrel on the line and reassemble.

Indesit is70c ..the dryer heats up but does not dry the clothes

Hi Kristina. Try cleaning out your dryer vent line. Depending on how it's installed, sometimes it can get clogged at the discharge screen outside or if the line is draped under a house or a mobile home.It can develope a belly or multiple bellies depending how it was installed. These will trap the humid air discharge coming from the dryer and the condensation will accumulate in the line restricting the discharge air and tripping the safety limit switches. you can use a shop vac to clean the line but be careful,if the vent is old it can become brittle and crack easily. If the line is in question I recommend placing the hose on the discharge side of the vacuum and blow it through. It may make a little mess but far easier then replacing the line or worse the dryer.

We have a long dryer line to the out side vent... how do we improve drying time... line is clear and we clean the lent from the dryer frequently...also, clean lent after every use..

If you may want to look into installing a booster fan for your vent line.
It can really help in cases such as yours when the vent line is extra long.

I have a Maytag performa poropane dryer. It states the input rating at18000 btu per hour. I have a 5/8 inch OD flexible gas line at 48inches long it is rated for 75001 to106000 btu/hr . Is this the right...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

There is nothing wrong with using a larger flexible gas line than is required. We used the 5/8 OD lines most of the time as they were much more durable than the smaller ones. The line you have is fine.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

What are the gas line requirments for the kenmore model 9796

Hi,
Most of the time a 1/2" line will be plenty...
to really size gas lines properly there are a lot of variables...
distance, type of gas, BTU's and type of line must all be known and then charts consulted to properly size the line...

How can i split an existing gas line to hook up my dryer? I HAVE A GAS LINE THAT GOES TO MY WATER HEATER AND WOULD LIKE TO SPLIT IT OFF TO HOOK MY DRYER UP BUT CANT FIND A FITTING TO DO THAT

Just put a "TEE" into the line. Make sure you use "BLACK IRON" pipe fittings on gas lines. Galvanized will create problems and you will not only have leaks in the future, galvanized pipe in gas lines is a violation of almost every building code.

Clothes dyer takes to long to dry, already clean all exhaust vents.

is it gas or electric?if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, they work for a while then cut out leaving clothes damp.if it's electric and heater is working check outside to see if flapper is opening, you might have a blcked vent line.you can remove vent line from back of dryer and run it and if clothes dry you know your vent line is blocked,if it is blow out vent line with leaf blower, short blasts at first so you don't damage vent line
