Question about Pool & Spa
How do I get the Jacuzzi magnum pool pump apart so I can get to the impeller? The pump runs but no water is pumped to the filter. I ran water through the intake inline (skimmer to pump) and there was no clog. I figure the impeller must be busted.
I want to know how to get to the impeller so I can replace it The pump is not attached with any screws to the filter area.
The impeller on the Magnum pump unthreads counter clockwise as do other impellers. There is a shaft of the motor that runs the length of the motor, on the back of the motor when you take the bell housing off you will see a small silver spot with a **** in it for a standard screwdriver. Put the biggest one in there you can and then grab the impeller and turn it counter clock wise and it should unthread. Sometimes they won't if it has been on there a number of years. You will need to break it off if it doesn't unthread. Then just purchase a new Impeller for the Jacuzzi Magnum Pump.

The actual strainer/pump housing on the Magnums' are usually attached to the motor by a large nut. Under that nut and it should pop right off, then you can proceed to take off the impeller as PartsCenter suggested. Try not to break it off though...Jacuzzi went out of business in 2006 and parts are sparse.
