WHIRLPOOL DRYER WILL NOT START

MY GE DRYER DID NOT TURN ON, SO I CHANGED THE FUSES IN THE FUSE BOX, STILL DID NOT TURN ON. SO I GOT ANOTHER DRYER, IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 LOADS AND LATER THAT NIGHT IT DIDN'T WORK (COME ON) AGAIN? PLEASE HELP, IS THERE A FUSE INSIDE THE DRYER OR IS IT A THERMAL FUSE ON THE INSIDE?

You have a bad terminal in the wall outlet.
It is not the dryer.

Dryer won't turn on

Is your dryer electric or gas. If electric, check your fuse box first thing. If it is an older model and your home has an older fuse box, and the boxes uses the big bullet type fuses for the 220 line, one or both fuses could be bad. If so, go buy two new fuses and give it a t;ry.

yes the price of fixing it is less then a new unit most of the time.
you might need new heating element or cut-off switch only.

MY GE GAS DRYER WILL NOT HEAT UP

check an pop the lil plastic cover on the front of the dryer an then turn the dryer on an see if the igniter glows after 30 secnds if it glows........** you probably have bad coils****if it doesnt then check the thermal fuse for continuity if is not checking ok replace it , that is one of the most common causes,
steps
1 check igniter for glowing
2 check thermal fuse for continuity test
3 if they both check ok an still no heat change the coils

good luck!

DRYER TUMBLES BUT WILL NOT HEAT

If this is a gas dryer the MOST COMMON problem would be a thermal fuse usually located in the back of the dryer. you would have to remove the back panel their is only 9 screws securing it. The thermal fuse is going to be white with 2 wires and 1 screw . Unplug the dryer remove the wires from thermal fuse and put them together temporary using tape make sure metal ends make contact and they do not touch any thing else. plug dryer back in and turn on. if every thing works than replace the thermal fuse and clean out your duct

Stink Smell from Electric Clothes Dryer/Fuse Box

this should be quite easy to solve.remove the circuit breaker and sniff it. if it is the same smell you are getting when the dryer is running that is your problem.have an elecrtician check and replace with correct value.the dryer is most probably running on an overloaded circuit.
