Question about General (102105011) Electric Kettle
I think some one in the family used our GE Electric Kettle model 106832 to heat up apple cider. My girlfriend says the kettle is now unuseable because you are only supposed to boil water in it.
Can I clean it with bleach & water or something else and continue using it?
It has set for months but looks clean.
Yes, you can use it again try vinegar to clean the kettle inside. Put a cup of vinegar and hot water, keep it for half an hour. Then wash it properly, hope it will help.

I use a solution of vinegar and water (1:1) and boil it in the kettle, to remove mineral deposits from the metal heating surface (We do the same with the percolating coffee maker and run it through several times)... It seems to take any residual tastes out of the unit and possibly also cleans the plastic parts that it touches (I believe it does).
By the way... WHO thought it was a good idea to heat apple cider in an electric kettle. Sorry but WOW
