I have lenovo g580 lap. i have installed easy camera but couldn't able to chat in gmail through video

You're going to have to make sure you have the drivers installed for the webcam that's on your computer as well as you have the software for it.

You also need to have Adobe flash updated all the way and enable the webcam device through properties.

You can download the drivers and such through the manufacture's website under support and drivers.

Video calling not be done

The Acer Aspire netbook line comes with a webcam built in to the display panel. This webcam can be used with any software that can access the webcam, such as a video chat program. The cam is in use only when the appropriate software is loaded, so it's not active at all times. The webcam drivers are installed in your netbook, so it should work with most software.

Install a third-party application, such as Skype or Yahoo! Messenger, that offers video chat features. Launch the video chat or messaging software. Select video chat or video calls from within the application to activate your Acer Aspire netbook camera. The camera should load automatically when you select the right option in your third-party software. The camera output displays on your screen and your chat partner's.
b>Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices expand right click to update driver in W7 http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for IE: webcam name webcam driver you might have to try a few times to get it right software if you dont have the driver you will need to download one here rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html Windows XP/Vista/7/8 It might take some time being a freeware driver solution note: it will find all of your outdated drivers this is a free driver solutions This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer Hope this helps.

HOW DO I ACTIVATE MY BUILT IN WEB CAMERA ON TOSHIBA 660

Instructions

Select the "Camera Assistant Software" program located under the "Program Files" folder accessed by opening your computer "Start" menu.

View the configuration options available for your built in webcam and microphone. In order to use the webcam you will need to use a video chat service such as Yahoo Instant Messenger, AOL IM, or Google Video Chat.

Open your Instant Messaging (IM) program by double clicking the program icon on your computer desktop. If you do not have an instant messaging service, you can sign up for a service from Yahoo, AOL, or Google through the URLs included in the resource section of this article. For Yahoo and AOL, you can download and install IM software to use with your laptop webcam on your computer.

Sign in to your IM service. Then, select the "My Webcam" icon on the application menu to enable video chat in the service. When the webcam is enabled, others will be able to see and here you when conducting a video chat session on your Toshiba laptop.

I have a sony vaio with built in web cam and windows 7 but i cant use the web cam . why is that?

Are you using the Sony Webcam companion? If not ou can download the application from Sony Vaio website. ( Sony Web Cam Companion ). If you are trying to use skype or any other video messaging software: Try to check if there are other video chat application running in the background of your computer. Open the system configuration utility (Windows key + R > msconfig ) then go to the Startup Tab. Uncheck all application that is related to video chat and leave the preferred video chat software active (checked). Restart the computer and viola! You can now use your webcam for video chat.

How do I use my acer crystal eye webcam to make video on my aspire 6930

I was having an issue with using my webcam on my Acer Aspire 6930. I came to this site to try and find a way to solve my problem. I was reading posting from people saying to reformat my hard drive, uninstall the webcam and then reinstall it, etc. I then remembered that I had an issue a few years ago using a webcam on my other computer (which was not a laptop). I figured out that the issue was I had a gmail account and used 'video chat'. This makes it unpossible to use with other applications. I would suggest that you disable your video chat before the 'uninstall/reinstall' process!!! :)

How to fix my web cam

hi..
The very first step is of course to check your webcam connection. Most webcams use the USB port to connect to the PC, so check if yourUSB cable is properly plugged. For build-in webcams this steps does ofcourse not apply. Many new laptops have a build-in webcam. Also tryconnecting your webcam directly to your PC instead of through a USB hub(if you are using one).

The next thing is to do is to check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly.

It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but theright drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark willindicate a problem.

If the device is not recognized in Windows XP, it will be listed under Other Devices.

In either case you can try to update the drivers. Right-click the device, and in the popup menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers.
In case no driver for the webcam can be found, you can try a third party driver scanning program that scans your PC for installed hardware and allows you to install missing drivers.

If this fails, the next step would be to uninstall the software that came with your webcam. Use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. If that does not work you can use a third party uninstaller.

After uninstalling the software, restart your PC and then reinstallthe webcam software. In most cases this will solve the problems.Depending on the software, you might need to unplug your webcam duringthe software installation.
If the drivers and webcam software are correctly installed, and youstill cannot see any video, there can be a problem with the programsettings. Most chat and meeting software have a configuration option toselect the video source for the webcam feature. If you have multipledevices that qualify for video, you might need to select your webcamdevice as the source for the webcam feature in that program.

Some webcams and programs require additional software, although thatshould be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is doesnot harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.

Lastly, if your webcam’s image is not sharp, check to see if it hasa focus ring. A blurry image can sometimes simply mean the webcam isnot in focus. Adjusting the focus through the ring can solve thatproblem....

Web cam says to close other video streaming application before it can proceed but there are no applications open

I have an answer! I've tried many times to fix this problem on my laptop, even talking to two dell reps in the process(which was worthless). Finally I found the problem(for me, at least)- my webcam's driver was not compatible. If you haven't tried this already, go to your Device Manager, click the plus sign next to Imaging Devices, and select Integrated Webcam. Right click that and select Update Driver Software. I downloaded the latest driver it found and restarted my computer, and miraculously my webcam central was back to normal. I hope this helps you too!

Toshiba A-200 10W webcam locked by another application

I don't know what exactly fixed the problem but I managed to fix it. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite A215 by the way.

Here's what I did
Control Panel >> System Maintenance >> Device Manager

Go to Imaging Devices and right-click "Chicony USB 2.0 Camera" and choose "Update Driver Software"

First I clicked on "Search automatically for updated driver software" but everything was already up to date. So then I went to "Browse my Computer for Driver Software" and then to "Let Me Pick from a List". I updated the USB Video Device and rebooted but that only made it worse I think. Then I tried updating one of the "Chicony USB 2.0 Camera"'s and that did the trick. Yey. So now my webcam works.
