Question about Frigidaire FD38NGDC Grill

1 Answer

Low flame I have a Frigidaire 4 burner LP gas grill that does not get hot past the low end of the "Grill" meter when all 4 burners are on. When all burner are turned to high you barely see any flame. When I turn on any 1 of the 4 burners you at least see a flame better than before but still not good. The unit is sealed other than looking at the burners. I have tried the following: 1 Looked for a kink in the hose 2 Check the gas tank (put a new one in also) 3 Cleaned the gas lines

SOURCE: Ducane lp gas grill flame pulsates

Have you replaced the battery ? They do rust and lose contact over time outside.

Not enough gas pressure it seems. Grill flames are not going on high. High operates like low.

This sounds like a classic symptom of a bad regulator. Try replacing the regulator and hose.

How can i manually ignite the grill

What I do is remove the grates and flame guards and light the burners with a stick lighter then turn em on low and cover them with the flame guards then sit the grates back on there.

I just purchased a brand new tank of propane and i still have the same problem that the propane burns out of all 4 burners but at a really low flame even on high. I can not get the grill to heat up...

Turn the tank off. Disconnect the grill hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the LP tank valve on VERY, VERY SLOWLY until it's fully open. Now, light each burner one at a time and turn it up to the highest setting. If that didn't solve the problem, repeat the previously listed steps.

If after the second attempt the burners still only maintain a low flame, you will need to replace the grill hose/regulator.

Hope this solved your problem and Happy Grilling!

Can't operate more than one burner at a time

It could be something very simple. Remove the tank from the unit. Open and close all valves on the unit. Reattach the tank and SLOWLY open the tank just a little bit so as not to trip the safety mechanism inside it. Then retry.

Hello,
You may have turned the gas tank valve on too fast. Turn it back off, disconnect it and reconnect it. Then very slowly turn the valve back on. Light one burner at a time and turn to low before lighting the next. If you are hearing and smelling gas with the tank on but all grill knobs off, don't use the grill. You may have a leaking grill valve, regulator or hose. If you are only smelling gas with the knobs on, it's possible you have a clogged burner or orifice from bug nests, spiderwebs, etc and need to clean it out first. Hope this helps. Douglas

Gas grill

Probably 1 of 3 things:
Check your LP tank valve at an LP filling station. Make sure both valve and tank are in working order.
Next check for webs or cocoons up around where knob valves go into burners. You may have to remove burners to see into back of valves. Then swab orifice holes with a torch tip cleaner.
Third, a Menards , LP outfitter/station, or grill shop should have a universal replacement rubber gas line and "regulator"(possibly plugged or stuck shut). Sometimes you end up with cheap/bad regulator out of the factory.
Good luck and hope one these helps or does the trick.
