I have had some issues with my LCD screen & had it replaced about 1 year ago (it went psycodelic). Now the screen is really faded out. I will be sending it back to Acer (thank goodness we bought the extended warranty), but I was wondering if there is a way for me to set the "contrast/brightness"? I am not REAL computer savy, but I can muddle through step by step instructions.

Re: Faded out Acer LCD screen
It's not a contrast / brightness issue, even at the lowest setting the screen would look normal and probably not the way you're seeing it now. It's likely that the inverter or backlight went out on the lcd. You could possibly turn them up the highest level, but it would still need to be serviced by Acer for it to work correctly.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

So, if you can hear startup sound then motherboard, RAM and HDD is OK! Try to connect it with external monitor, if it's working on it, then problem in LCD, LCD light or LCD cable. If not working with external monitor then it is video card problem, if card is integrated then you need to reball or change at all south bridge on the motherboard, if video is as module card then just replace it with compatible one. If LCD cable - disassemble laptop to get LCD cable and test each wire with any multimetr with sound beep and replace it if needed. If LCD light - try to take LCD screen under good lamp then power on laptop and carefully look to dark screen if you see very dark Windows boot screen then you need to disassemble LCD housing, disassemble LCD, remove and replace LCD lamp with working one. If all this cant help, then you need to replace LCD at all.
Three LCD block in the Panasonic projector PT-L735 green, blue and red and two polarizer use with each LCD (as show in picture below) when polarizers faded due to age or any other reason then screen show the color. In your cause the green polarizers faded and need to be replaced
Friend, try to replace the battery. If it doesn't work try to press firmly the LCD connection interface underneath the screen because such unit has lossen connection.use T6 screwdriver to open the unit then slowly firmly press the LCD connector on the interface. Such thing will solve the problem. good luck
i think there is something wrong with ccd, if so it is serious... .
I experienced some disturbed picture on lcd or whole black lcd due to ccd problem. As u said you pictures are fadded it means may be ccd is damaged. If so you have to replace the ccd at any authorised repairer for fuji.
as you mentioned other problem there is nothing common between both. for that i suppose there is some problem in either usb socket or cord , so first check the cord, if it is ok then we can doubt on usb socket.
But in both the way you have to go to Fuji .
