Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
I've had my 360 for nearly two years now, And for the most of this time i've stricktly played offline.. UNTIL 2009 i decided.. I wanted to buy some new Games which went online.. THUS came the problems.. I was prompted by Microsoft to install a few ''UPDATES'' which were in some cases ''required'' to play online.. After 5 days things went TERRIBLY WRONG.. I and my girlfriend on a casual evening had recieved my BRAND NEW COPY of Gears of War and were about to try and play.. we turned the Xbox on.. Only to be met by the screen '' Disc Unreadable, Please Clean disk blah blah blah '' we tried Numerous times to be met with that same message or the emblem PLAY DVD will come up instead of PLAY GAME and when I pressed A on the PLAY DVD... The white screen comes up '' TO PLAY THIS DISC, PUT IT IN AN XBOX 360 CONSOLE ''.. I don't mean to to tell you how Ironic this sounds as this is there could only be one console that the game could be tried on..
To cut a long story short.. I treid more of my games.. 30 games to be precise.. Only to discover.. that it wasnt the disc.. Its the console.. Microsoft have been of zero help to me and I'm getting tempted to take a hammer and settle this ''dispute once and for all''.. help.. please
(P.S The games play sometimes.. but it takes Countless times of opening and closing the disc drive in hope)
I have the same problem but since my xbox is out of warentee and I have 0 dollars here is a couple of ways i found that helped my xbox play disks that it didnt wanna play: first putting it on its side will help if it makes large circle scratches on it second if you open and close the disk tray a few times then turn the console on and off it seems to work when the consoles comes back on. I found it helpful if it was being particularly stubborn to play a game if you disconnect the internet it tends to work a little better
