Hi, I have a rather old Nokia 3587i whose screen is not working. The background lights up when I turn it on or press buttons, but it only shows blue, no texts or pictures. Even when I have it off, and plug it in to charge, it no longer says "Phone Off. Battery Charging," it just makes a noise.
I can still dial out, and I have memorized what buttons to press to turn it on silent, etc, but I can't see if I have texts, or access my Contacts. I think this is the result of me dropping the phone too much and something that connects the screen to the information breaking. The screen has come off once when it fell down, and I had difficulty putting it back on. I believe all the parts are still in the phone, but they aren't connecting.

Re: nokia 3587i screen not displaying info
Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.
You can find displays for fair price at :

It seems to be a corrupted firmware. Nokia allows you to update the firmware over the net. How???
Fully charge the battery, backup the data on the phone, Connect the phone to the PC through a USB cable only. Start Nokia PCSuite and allow a few seconds for the suite to connect to the phone. It will display on the suite that Nokia 6300 is connected. Click on update firmware and follow instructions. When suite finishes, your phone would be as good as new. Restore the data to the phone.

u'll have to give ur handset to the nokia warranty service centre n they'll fix it in a day or two. Its a common problem that is effecting all the 6500-s models sooner or later. even i had that problem only after 1 1/2 month after i bought my new nnokia 6500-s,thank God as i had the warranty card and period...i got it repaired.
1. try *#7370# with my N-Gage, its work fine
2. also the 3 key format combination (try...
switch off press and HOLD the green button, 3 and the star button... and while you are doing that, power the phone on. hold the three buttons until formatting appears on the screen)....
3. removing the mmc simply fix it just wipe whatevers on the mmc somehow and it should be fine, most probably a program thats autoloading with the phone...
4.may be you need to get your phone reflashed. Nokia repair center will do it for free if you are under warranty.
