its a dead laser, you need to replace it changing the ohms wont make a difference if the laser is dead.

The disk is not spinning and the band is fine

Have you checked to see if the turn for the laser is working? It won't read if the laser doesn't move. Check to make sure the teeth are good on the laser wheel and double check that it is the right position, if when you changed the belt you may have knocked something else off that is for the laser mover.

Xbox 360 rproblems

The motor in the dvd drive isn't spinning properly and the disk doesn't end up spinning so the laser cannot read the disk making the console believe there isn't a disk in there. So what you can do is open the console and then the dvd drive (Voids Your Warranty) and clean the motor with rubbing alcohol and some qtips or send it to MS and have it fixed.

Xbox 360

Their are four ribbon cables inside one for the laser, one to open, one to spin the disk and one for power sometimes one of these might come lose. Or maybe even the laser has gone out but try in that order cables first, once the disk drive is opened then check for the laser turning on without starring directly into it you should see a red light of course. A new laser goes from 15 to 40 bucks depending on the type of drive you have check ebay first.

Xbox 360 disk drive does not close

Hi there. There is a solution out there, called the 'rubberband mod'. By tieing a rubberband to the rail on which the laser slides, you restrict the movement of the laser, and force it to stay within a readable range. It is essentially a bumper. Here's a link with a video that gives all the info on it; http://www.360mods.net/News/article/sid=71.html Hope that helps ! cheebster.
