Emerson TC0918 Television

Emerson TC0918 question

By Melissa - usenet poster

I recently bought a used Emerson TC0918 TV believing the seller that it ran
fine.
When I got it home I found it worked great but had one problem. In cable mode
the channel up control switched between channel 4,5,and 48 and back to 4
.Works fine in VHF mode
I didn't get the remote and can only suspect that there is a setup mode
where the tuner learns what channels are available and that was already set
up.
I'm hoping somebody can confirm my suspicions, let me know if there is a way
to clear this up without the remote and, let me know where I might get a
remote
Thanks in advance and I know I shouldn't take somebody's word for it but for
$5 it was too good a deal to pass up

If you get a universal remote that is compatible, you should be able to
tune the channels individually. As for auto-programming them, you will
require the factory remote only.

Not sure about that model #, but I've ran into '90's Emersons with that
problem, also had some channel display at top that wouldn't go away. The all
for 1 cinema 6 I believe will take care of it. Or go to
# and can find about any remote. Malcolm

Bob or Ann:
From the sounds of it the seller's claim that "it ran fine" is true so
you should be pleased that he sold you a working television as he claimed.
At the price of $5 you shouldn't expect it to work very well if at all
so you got a good deal even without the factory remote.
All you need now is a factory remote to set up the channel memory
lacking the factory remote you can utilize any cheap universal remote to at
least directly enter the other channels with the number keypad on the
remote.
