Element Electronics Wireless speakers (model#EWOS1) do not work.
The adaptor plug that goes from the outlet to the transmitter does not make a connection inside of the transmitter. The light flashes when the adaptor is inserted but it is only on for a split second.
I have a 2nd set of the exact same sytem and it works great.
As this was purchased from Circuit City there is no returns and Element Electronics does not answer the phone (888-238-8123), which is a number given to me by Circuit City.
Is there another adaptor i can purchase (Radio shack, Best Buy, etc) that will work with these wireless speakers?

Hi,All the RCA sockets are inputs so you won't be able to plug in your heaphone transmitter into those. From what I can gather you will need to plug the headphone transmitter into the 3.5mm Jack socket located on the right hand side of the TV near the RCA sockets.
If you only have RCA plugs on your heaphone transmitter you will need one of these pictured below.
You can get them from Maplins electronics or Radioshack if in the us or any good audio outlet.
yep the power to it is in question and since it is a 9 volt adaptor as mentioned that will need to be checked 9vdc adaptors are over the counter items in most radio shops
You probably have the polarity on your plug to the transmitter set on the wrong one. Set it to negative frequency, and it will probably work. I've had the same problem myself.
One other possibility: the Music has to be coming through for the light to go on, so if the music is too soft, you might not get any sound through. Good luck!
Try using a different source than your television. If it works, then there's an issue with the output of the TV. However, if you use the same cables as you were using with the TV, they may be bad. Try using another device with a different set of cables to plug into the transmitter, which should help identify where your problem really is. Please rate my answer, thanks.
Connect the supplied short RCA "Y" adapter cable to the mini jack of the transmitter base unit. Connect the "Y" adapter plugs to the TAPE 2 "REC" L and R jacks. These jacks will supply "line out" levels of any source selected at the Kenwood to the EWOS1 internal amplifier. The line out levels are "fixed" so changing the volume levels of the Kenwood will NOT change the volume out of the EWOS1 speakers. The EWOS1 volume will be controlled by the volume up / down buttons on the front of each speaker, or by the incuded remote when directed at the speaker(s).
The signals from the TAPE 2 jacks are ALWAYS on regardless of the source selected, so the Kenwood volume can be turned to minium and still provide an unchanged sound level from the EWOS1 speakers. Likewise, if listening to FM, Phono, CD, etc. in the room that the Kenwood's speakers are located, the OWS1 speakers will by playing the same FM, Phono, CD, etc program - unless they have been powered off. The point is, that unlike having to choose FM, CD, etc to listen to those soreces, you should never select TAPE 2 as a source. If TAPE 2 is selected, the KENWOOD would attempt to amplify TAPE 2's "PLAY" jacks, which I assume are not being used.
Make sure you have put the transmitter for the wirless speaker in the slot on the back of the reciever, it is a slim white device that is about 3 to 5 inches long?? and maybe half an inch thick. and make sure it is put in the right way.
Then make sure the wireless speaker is plugged in to the wall outlet.
If this does not work for you it may require being taken in to an authorized panasonic service center. when one part of the wireless system fails (transmitter or reciever) they both must be replaced. they are not interchangable from one panasonic to another.
They have a code in each unit that lets the wireless speaker that came with it only work with the reciever it was sold with.
I have even seen times where the store that sells them swapped the transmitters of two units and then they had two customers very mad at them because the wireless speakers did not work for either person.
Hi Sleopard, Wireless transmitters should allow broadcasts of a single source such as a VCR, DVD player, or cable boxes. They normally wouldn’t be able to transmit something like a cable signal to your television. One way this could work is if you connected a cable box right below your outlet and then connected the cable box to your transmitter. If your transmitter has a infrared extender you may be able to change channels by pointing your remote at the wireless receiver.
Your connection between the AR transmitter and the ONKYO receiver sounds solid. I'd guess it's the wireless speakers that are the wrong point, or at least that's what I'd look at first.
Doing a bit of research, I noticed a couple minor points.
First, these seem prone to RF interference from other RF devices. Have to tried switching channels on them?
Second, someone reported theirs would not work properly unless the speakers were turned on just before the transmitter, and turned off shortly after the transmitter. Apparently you have to hold the button on the front in for 5 seconds to turn the speakers on or off.
I know that's rather basic, but it's been a few days and no one else has responded, so I figured we should start somewhere.
