Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The virus protect you have is not working as any programs loaded /downloaded are always pre-checked by the security program as soon as you start/ install or plug in
My security system asks to scan for anything that down load or install (cd's sticks or anything with a program possibility) and the screen lights up red if anything is found that may be detrimental to the computer. Only a mug over rides the advice to cancel the program immediately

Can not download anything from the internet. Get error message 'your security settings will not allow downloading. How do I correct this?

Did your parents install nannyware?
(No insult intended -- kids need protection)
If not, you can change your security settings.
Go to System > Internet Options > Security. You may find your security settings are too high. Also, you could add the website as a Safe Site.
If that does not work, open control panel >classic view> firewall > turn it off > and then try again.
However: remember security exists for a reason. Viruses, Trojans, and other malware lurks for the purpose of harming you and your computer, especially if the firewall is off.
I rocomend that you go to www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware Malwarebytes Anti-Malware's industry-leading scanner detects and removes malware like worms, Trojans, etc...
Always download only from the program's publisher, never from a site such as C/NET or downloads.com which are full of malware.
One other site you can trust is SourceForge.net -- the home of freeware maintained by dedicated volunteers.

No. 1. I am not going to pay some scam artist to get rid of something you put on my computer. *** holes.

I doubt anybody on this site put anything on your computer, so you don't have to get nasty. Nobody is telling you you have to pay anything. You can always get free advice here.

If you think your computer has been infected with some virus or other malware, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware is a very effective tool. Download and install the free version. When you start the program it will ask if you want to update. Let it update, then do a quick scan. In most cases the quick scan is enough. Allow the program to fix any problems it finds. In most cases this is all you need to do.

There. You didn't have to spend anything.

How do i make sure nobody else is using my internet without my permission?

You need to set up a network password to keep others from piggy-backing onto your internet connection and to secure others from accessing your data. I can walk you through the process if you give me your router''s manufacturer and model.

Computer security...i have microsoft security essentials alredry in my computer.... Do i need another security program to go with it ...like macaffee or norton or avg....rt now i also have bitdefender 2010...

My goodness YES!! You need anti-virus, and there are several you don't even need to pay for:
http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=antivirus&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows
Bitdefender is nice, but will not cover all the bases at all. I use Avast which is free and in that link, and i would put that up against anything Norton or Mcaffee sells. Security essentials is not what I would consider adequate protection

My Nieghbor loaded at least 3 rogue anti-virus programs onto her Acer. The netbook has 2 legitimate users. Most control panel, security center and other critical applications have been blocked from use...

sounds like spyware still got thru even with all the anti-virus programs running. Best thing to do is to save all the important data onto an external drive or flash drive and then reformat the drive and reinstall the drivers for the hardware and put the applications that you want back onto the computer. This time only install one anti-virus program onto the computer.

Normal Web pages can be viewed, but secure Web pages, like shopping pages or pages that deal with personal information, cannot be viewed. Use the following steps to reset SSL encryption so that secure pages can once again be viewed:
  1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools , Internet Options , and then click the Security tab.
  2. Select Trusted Sites , and then click the Default Level button.
  3. Click the Advanced tab and scroll to the Security Options section.
  4. Select Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 if they are not already selected.
  5. Click the Content tab.
  6. Click the Clear SSL State button, and then click OK . You should now be able to view secure Web sites if you had to make any selection. Browse to a secure Web page to make sure. If you still cannot access the page, use the remaining steps to resolve the problem.
