You will need a small torx screwdriver for the screws, which are about 3 inches long. You can see where the screws are here. Follow the instructions on http://softmodxport.com. It has great information.

Most of this can be taken apart with a screwdriver . The case is a little tricky. You will notice from the side...where the case is split, there are tabs on the inside that you need to press. I poked a small screwdriver through the vent holes to press them and get the box apart.
Lid switch is most likely the problem, if lid switch is visible under lid on right side then this is older design and common problem switch. if you have console frame covers on front sides, snap off from top, a screw is at bottom front corners of console, remove and pull console forward and fold back. If lid swich is hidden then you will see it at left on top of cabinet with console folded back. a 5/16 screw holds a green ground wire to cab. remove and switch will unclip with lid up. If lid switch was visible under lid then you need to remove 2 brass clips holding cabinet on top of base to back, pry with screwdriver to unclip. undo harness connection on cabinet top, this is your lid switch connection. sw body is held by 2 phillips screws, harness tube held by clips on underside of cabinet top. ground wire with 5/16 screw present at sw body. New versions of this switch have metel shield attached.
If you are comfortable with taking apart your system, I would advise taking the case off and then finding the dvd-drive, removing the case on that and simply tightening the screws on the tray. Don't tighten them too much, but make sure they are snug. Then test to see if it still wobbles and it should be fixed. If you are not comfortable with taking apart your system you will need to find a repair shop that can do it for you. Please rate, thanks!
I took mine apart today, there's a silver cover on the left that needs to come off to access the final screw, and I can see of no way of separating the two halves, as there's a tab that protrudes down from the cover which connects with the bottom half. I ended up levering it off. This gives access to the panel and button circuit that unclips and unplugs, then undo the last screw, then there is a clip that needs to be held back to get the top cover off.
to play copied dvd's ( i think thats what you typed ), you will need to do a few things, including taking your xbox apart, and connecting it to your computer. You will also need to flash your dvd drive.
Quick NEED list:
1. SATA Cable 2. SATA Card 3. torx screw driver 4. torx 8 and 10 bits 5. Flash / Pen drive (USB)
To do this, your computer has to have some kind of SATA port. You can buy a SATA card for $25.00 at your local computer hardware store. Also make sure you pick up at least an 18 inch SATA cable. Now once you have both of these, then you will have to take your x-box apart.
