You will need a small torx screwdriver for the screws, which are about 3 inches long. You can see where the screws are here. Follow the instructions on http://softmodxport.com. It has great information.

Most of this can be taken apart with a screwdriver . The case is a little tricky. You will notice from the side...where the case is split, there are tabs on the inside that you need to press. I poked a small screwdriver through the vent holes to press them and get the box apart.
If it is an older type PS3 (Phat) on the left hand side of the console there is a small plastic cover. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, carefully prise one end of the cover outwards. There is a small cut-out on one end where the screwdriver goes. When you have this cover removed you will see a blue cross head screw. Remove this screw. You will also see a small wire clip that is attached to the side of the hard drive caddy. Pull this clip outwards. Carefully take hold of the clip and slide the hard drive towards the front of the console. The hard drive will then come out of the side of the console.
If you have a PS3 Slim the procedure is slightly different. On the bottom of the console there is a small flip out cover. Carefully remove this cover and there will be a blue cross head screw. Remove the screw. Now look below the slot where you put your discs. There is another plastic cover. Slide this to the right and remove it. Behind that cover is your hard drive. Flip the metal clip down and pull the hard drive out.
If you are comfortable with taking apart your system, I would advise taking the case off and then finding the dvd-drive, removing the case on that and simply tightening the screws on the tray. Don't tighten them too much, but make sure they are snug. Then test to see if it still wobbles and it should be fixed. If you are not comfortable with taking apart your system you will need to find a repair shop that can do it for you. Please rate, thanks!
well at this point you have two options, buy a refurb from gamestop,
or take apart your xbox figure out what brand drive you have in it and order a replacement from ebay
i recently had to do this with my heavily modded xbox.....using it as a media center. the console is not hard to take apart it truly is just a pc in a consoles body....lol http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/modding-xbox-ultimate-multimedia-center,807.html
heres a little more info on taking it apart
2 red lights is a over heating issue. As for fixing, if you don't want to take apart the 360 you will have to send it back to microsoft. If you're okay with taking it apart, replace the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU with Arctic Silver, and then comes the tricky part. The small black screws that are on the bottom of the frame take some fine tuning, usually you leave them fairly loose or not even put them back in at all, only once have I come acrossed where I had to bolt them down as tight as I could get them. You may want to leave the case off until you have finished finding the proper configuration.
to play copied dvd's ( i think thats what you typed ), you will need to do a few things, including taking your xbox apart, and connecting it to your computer. You will also need to flash your dvd drive.
Quick NEED list:
1. SATA Cable 2. SATA Card 3. torx screw driver 4. torx 8 and 10 bits 5. Flash / Pen drive (USB)
To do this, your computer has to have some kind of SATA port. You can buy a SATA card for $25.00 at your local computer hardware store. Also make sure you pick up at least an 18 inch SATA cable. Now once you have both of these, then you will have to take your x-box apart.
