Are you using Epson original cartridges?

As you probably know Epson cartridges have a microchip attached.

I'ts possible that the compatible cartridges (which should also be chipped) have not been reset correctly to match your printer.

You may try running the head cleaning function but if this fails, I suspect the chips on the cartridges have not been set correctly.

If this is the case, return them to the supplier as "faulty".
It is no big deal for them to top up and reset the chip correctly (which is what they often do with compatibles) then they re-sell them.

Try taking the cartridges out and then putting them back in and run the head cleaning function first though.

Good luck.

SOURCE: printer not printing

1. Make sure plastic (all of it) is not on the cartridge contacts.
2. Wipe the print area (bottom of cartridge) with damp cloth, If does not work, try warm water - even letting it stand for a few minutes.
3. Go to the printing services and service the device (this function let the printer try to clear any clogged areas that may exist.

The Ink at the head of your Printer Cartridges has dried up.
Try this:

Load some plain paper in the printer

Remove the cartridges from the printer and carefully dab the print heads of the cartridges with a damp paper towel. ( when you start to see ink, the ink is starting to flow).

Replace the cartridges into the printer.

Go to:

Control Panel
RIGHT click on this printer
choose Printing preferences
clean print cartridges 9some papers may print)
follow the instructions and do the heavier cleaning as well

Run the calibration function and allow the paper to print.

Is this a genuine lexmark cartridge? If so, please take it out and use a tissue paper to cover the bottom part and give the cartridge a gentle shake.
Then clean away the ink and put it back in.

Will not print on paper

if the cartridges were out of the printer for any length of time the ink has dried up on the print heads. you most likely will have to replace the ink cartridges. then allign again before it will print correctly

Printer is not printing

I had the same problem today - it didn't work in standard printing mode but I tried in hi res or photo paper mode and it worked- next step is to modify the settings to normal paper and so on and save as.

Epson Stylus C$$ Plus suspect Print-head problem Hi, I have a problem with my Epson Stylus C44 Plus. It has been out of use for over a year now and I recently bought a new set of cartridges. I installed the cartridges and carried out a head alignment, followed by a nozzle check. All colours apart from the blue colour printed correctly so I carried out a head cleaning test. This was done a few times and I even carried out a deep clean but with no results (apart from emptying the black cartridge in the process!). I assume that it could be a problem with either the print-head being clogged and/or the waste tank or sponge being clogged. Having read through this forum I think I will need to strip the printer down and give it a good clean through. One additional thing I did notice however is that the spring holding the waste tank and sponge must have become dislodged somehow, as the print-head makes a horrendous knocking noise whenever it moves to the right of the printer and it seems it is not aligning with something correctly. I moved the printer and noticed a spring had fallen out of it, after reading some posts here I assume that the spring holds this "mechanism" in place so the print-head aligns with it correctly. I keep thinking of binning it and getting a new printer but have just got 12 new carts off EBay, hence trying to solve the problem. I'm not after expert prints, just something cheap and cheerful that my eldest can use when he starts secondary school in September. Thanks in advance for any help, assistance or guidance. Paul
