The fuel pump is burnt out. the pump uses the fuel to cool itself. running low fuel the pump heats up and burns the plastic gears inside. thats why the fuse blew. need to take out gas tank to change pump.

2001 gmc sierra 1500 injector fuses and relays

Do you hear the fuel pump running on the prime cycle (when you turn on the key) (runs for 3 seconds) or when you have oil pressure?Have someone listen back by the tank for the wrrrrr. If you do have to change the fuel pump, make your life easy and just tilt up (lift) the pickup box from the drivers side to access the fuel pump.Takes 20 minutes to change it that way.

Started motor fine a few minutes later it died and would not start again had wife crank over while i look in carb no gas spraying into carb prime with gas and it would run for a sec then die again...

When you state "carb" I assume you mean TB as it should be Throttle Body Injection, unless it was converted.
You should be able to hear the fuel pump in the tank prime for about 2 seconds when you first turn the key on. May have to get your helper to remove the gas cap and listen through the filler.
If you don't hear a buzzing sound then check the relays on the firewall. You can turn the key off, wait a couple seconds and then turn the key on and have your helper listen and feel for the relay that clicks.
Or look for the wires,
The relay will have a dark green/white from the ECM
Grey is power to the pump when the relay is enegized.
Orange is hot at all times. It comes from the ECM B fuse. Should check that as well if not done so.
Black/white is a ground.

Now most likely if your relay clicks when the key is turned on then its all fine and the fuel pump has gone out. The oil pressure switch also enegizes the pump when there is oil pressure.

No fuel up to injecter pump truck just stalled

Did you check for fuel pressure on the line from the tank while you had the filter off? Do you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on? First I would listen for the hum of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the run position (not starting the engine) May have to get a helper and listen at the gas filler neck with the cap off. If you dont hear your fuel pump, check your fuses and relays. If the relay clicks when your helper turns the key on ( put your finger on the relay and ear down close to feel/hear the relay actuate)., and fuse is good, yet you do not hear the pump prime, I would say your fuel pump is shot.

If it is a diesel, check for fuel pressure coming off the direct drive pump hose while cranking the motor.

I think my fuel pump is bad . It acted like it ran out of gas , and now it want start. I can not hear fuel pump running when I turn the key on . Help

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
Try to loosen the bolt on the fuel rail then turn on the ignition but don't crank the engine. If the fuel doesn't flow then it's definitely a bad fuel pump which will surely require replacement.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Engine cranks fast, I do not smell gas or hear fuel pump running. Have 75,000 miles on car. I ran low on gas and refilled tank and now I have trouble starting my LS. The cars gas filter is not 5,000 miles...

Usually, the reset is located in the trunk. Check the fuel pump fuse. Check the fuel pump relay if equipped. You can also turn your key to acc for 7 seconds, turn it off. Turn it on, and off. This will prime the fuel pump. If you don't hear it at all, it is probably bad. Some are located in under the back seat and some, the fuel tank has to be taken off. The pump needs to have 12V, in order to work correct.

I ran out of gas. When I put gas in the tank the car wont start. What do I do?

hopefully all you need to prime the system
just turn the key on for 5 sec...do not crank and then turn the key off 5-10 times

each time you do this listen for the fuel pump...you should hear a whining noise
if you do not hear the whining noise then you killed your fuel pump when you ran out of gas

do you drive often below 1/4 tank?

Wont start , no fuel getting to fuel pump

Are you sure there is gas in the tank? I "fixed" more than one car that came in for a fuel pump replacement that ran out of gas. If you have gas, check the fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay, check for power to the fuel pump. check wiring, kinked lines, clogged fuel filter. Sometimes new FI cars are hard to prime if there is air in the system. Take off the air filter and have someone squirt fuel down the throttle body while you crank the engine. If it fires, you know it's not getting fuel, but when it does fire , it may prime the pump enough to run.

Car trys to crank but want

How about the fuel pump relay? or possibly the ASD relay. need to make sure you are getting voltage to the fuel pump when the key is on, the pump will run only for a few seconds when you turn the key to start to prime the system. If you dont hear the pump prime, check the aforementioned relays and associated fuses.
