Question about Rheem 40 Gallon FVR NATGAS Low WATER HEATER 6YR 22V40SF
I have a powervent 2 gas unit, about 2.5 years old. the pilot has gone out twice in the last 48 hours and one other time a month ago. all 3 times the led light on the thermostat had a 2 flash error code, which the manual says could be a broken spark ignitor. i'd rather have something a bit more definite, before i start throwing new parts on the unit.
any ideas as to cause/solution?
REPLACING THE SPARK IGNITOR WOULD BE MY FIRST GUESS .

You have no pilot. Power Venter units use either a sparker or a hot surface igniter. Therefore no pilot.
This is easy, call Rheem Tech support and they can walk you through testing.
Problem is you may have to pull controller which will require draining tank as t-stat is an immersion type.
