Question about Actiontec Electronics (GT724WGR) Retail DSL Wireless Gateway Router
I have ATT DSL and a Actiontec GT724wgr. Desktop is connected via ethernet and has worked great for 6 months. Just got a laptop and I cant seem to get it to connect wirelessly, correction....it claims to be connected but IE page will not load. Signal is good, no firewalls. Did a ping test on the laptop and there are no problems, came back fine. Could there be something else that is running besides the IGD( I ditched the IGD)? Nothing else is listed as running. Actiontec says its the laptop, Laptop company says its the router....of course. Laptop is IBM T41 running Windows XP sp3.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You need to input your AT&T user name and password in the router's setup page and set the modem to PPoPE.
Here is the user manual: DSL setup is on page 26
Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.
