Kenmore HE4T washer won't rinse. Valves open to

Kenmore HE4T washer won't rinse. Valves open to fill the wash cycle and then it runs through that fine and drains and spins. When it starts the rinse cycle the valve buzzes but doesn't seem to open, like it is not getting enough current to open it. Pull the leads off the valve and the buzzing stops. Buzzes for a bit then starts flashing a code F H I think.
It does this on any type cycle, gets to rinse and stops. Cleaned the Trap and filter, checked all the hoses. Sounds to me like a relay isn't working properly. Maybe I should check the voltage to the valve during wash and rinse to see if it is the same.

This is my own problem. I fixed it with various bits of info from this site and others.

At the outset, I took off the Floodsafe Hoses and thought I reset them. I put them back on and the problem was still there. After figuring out where the manual was (from postings here)(Washer was purchased used from private party, no manual) ran diagnostics.

    Failed at C:02.

Switched leads from the valves to the other valves (white ones moved over to the position the black ones were in and visa versa)

Ran the diagnostics again and the problem was now on the other cycle(hot or cold).

    stopped at C:03

Put everything (connections) back to original and reversed the hoses coming in. (hot to cold and cold to hot) Ran diagnostics again and the problem was now with the other valve. (C:03)

It was not a problem with the machine.

The "Floodsafe Hose" was tripped and after I reset it AGAIN. It works fine.

    What a pain.

This washer still does not smell bad. I am not sure what everyone is complaining about but I will be sure to let y'all know if we have that problem.

Thanks JT, it was a water supply problem. If I had been a bit more diligent in resetting the floodsafe hoses the first time it could have been fixed yesterday.

An HF Code is a Water Inlet Problem- No or Insufficient Water Supply.

Press Pause/Cancel twice to cancel the cycle. Then, unplug the washer.

Run down the list again:
Make sure faucets are completely turned on.
Make sure the fill vavles (screens where water enter machine) aren't clogged.
Make sure the hoses aren't kinked, etc.

Plug the machine back in. Try another cycle. If the problem still occurs, You may need to replace your Water Fill Valve. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

If you can see a constant water pressure from the hot and cold, chances are the water solenoid valves are ok.

I would look towards resetting to factory and checking the main control unit.

Whash machine

The symptoms are pretty specific for the F11 code on the Whirlpool Duet front loaders and clones (Kenmore Elite and KitchenAid):

If the washer starts to fill but the drum NEVER moves, your MCU is bad

If the washer runs through most of a cycle and then gives the F11 before (or during) a rinse or spin cycle, then you have the CCU relay problem.

If you are interested in having me repair your CCU for you, I offer that service on eBay (website coming soon). My username there is "jhagner"

Thanks

Kenmore he4t washer codes

The control for the washer likely detected a problem. The failure code will not be displayed on all models of washers. You can recall the error code by using this procedure:

  1. Select the "Drain/Spin" cycle.
  2. Select No Spin.
  3. Press the "Prewash" options and hold this button for 5 seconds.
  • Immediately after those 5 seconds the last stored failure code is displayed for 4 seconds.
  • After those 4 seconds the display switches automatically back to the selection mode
NOTE: If your washer does not have the Pre-Wash option. Then use the 2nd Rinse button (called Extra Rinse). The failure code should stay in the memory so that it can be recalled as often as necessary and as long as it is the youngest failure Code.

I have to pause and restart then it will stop washing again after a few minutes and flash the same codes again. I reset again and then it stops with 1 minute left and will not drain.

He4t - monthly bleach cleaning cycle

Washer Monthly Maintenance Procedure:
This cycle uses higher water volumes in combination with liquid chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washing machine.
  1. remove any clothing or items from washer
  2. CLOSE door (duh)
  3. open dispenser drawer and remove the detergent compartment and set aside. No laundry products will be added at this time. You will be required to add only liquid chlorine bleach at a later step.
  4. For Kenmore Elite HE products press a specific combo of buttons.
  • Select Rinse/Spin program
  • select low spin speed
  • select warm/cold water temp.
  • select 2nd rinse option
  • push the "end of cycle" signal button 4 times within 5 seconds to start the cycle
The machine will fill and run a short sensing cycle. This will take about 3 minutes.

Step 5
  1. The washer will provide 4 short tones. Check the: ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING display for the codes indicated below:
  • if "Ab" (add bleach) displayed in the estimated time remaining window (you'll hear 4 short tones) proceed to Step 6.
  • if "rL" (remove load) displayed in the Estimated Time Remaining window an error tone will sound. The door will unlock.
-open the door and remove the items from the washer.
-continue the cycle by pressing the START button.

NOTE: The water in the unit will dispense for a moment, then the door will unlock, lock again, and then the cycle will continue with another check for items in the washer.

The machine will fill and run a short cycle to determine whether any items have been left in the washer. This will take approx 3 minutes.

the washer will repeat Step 5 until it can determine that there are NO items n the washer and will display "Ab" (add bleach).
6. Add liquid chlorine bleach.
  • If using the maintenance procedure for the first time, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1 cup liquid chlorine bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.
  • If doing a monthly maintenance procedure, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1/3 cup bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid chlorine bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.

    NOTES:
  • Water will be flowing into the dispenser drawer when the bleach is added ... this is normal.
  • Do not add any detergent to this cleaning cycle. Use of more than 1 cup of bleachw ill cause product damage over time.
7. Once the cleaning cycle has begun, allow the cycle to complete. An est cycle time will appear on the display.

8. After the cleaning cycle is complete, leave the door open, clightly to allow for better ventilation and drying of washer interior.

9. Replace the detergent compartment divider.

Won,t drain on rinse cycle

There could be several causes for this, but probably a bad timer. One test for this...when it stops...is to turn it off...and turn the timer slightly clockwise...to the middle of the rinse cycle...and turn it back on. Does it run then?? Try advancing it to the spin cycle after the rinse. If it runs okay after you manually advance the knob...the timer is probably defective.
