    tried it; didn't work.

  • lel_kareh Feb 24, 2009

This solution did clear the spooler, so thanks. continued confusion however as it still gets stuck all over again every time I try to print again, including a calibration of test page. It starts to flash again and gives a message that the cartridges (although new) are empty.

Hello, unplug your printer and restart your computer. turn your printer of and reconnect it to the computer when the computer have restarted. then turn on your printer and I think your queue should be empty.

ok, try this. start->run write services.msc

then look for printer spooler and stop that process. then go

c:\windows\system32\spool\printers and delete all files in that folder.

then go to services.msc again and start printer spool.

ok, then it seems like its a electronical problem, or its the cartridges. try to clean the cartridges and look inside printer if you see any dust there. use the vacuum cleaner to clean it.

also try to print a test page without computer, you can do that if you hold in a button(dont know which) for 3-5 seconds.

How do I cancel documents in a queue

Cheers james heron

To cancel a queued document, there are several ways, it is best to go to printing devices and open what is printing the printer you want to cancel, click Cancel and disappear the document.
cancel-documents-in-queue-3yd5oaqhykbr2qilonoqer23-5-0.jpg
In many cases this does not help then you click cancel, the document continues to appear, that's when it works best to turn off the computer and turn it on again.
Another thing you can do to disappear a file from the print queue, disconnect the printer's USB cable and connect it again, for it can do so from your computer or from the same printer.

Another way that can work is, turn the printer off and turn it on again, you should always look the team to lose the memory of what is printed, in order to begin again.

Print queue stops document and will not resume

Hi,

Clearing the Print Queue in Windows:

Open the Print Queue
  • Windows 98 - click Start, Settings, Printers
  • Windows XP - click Start, Printers and Faxes
or click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes
  • Windows Vista - Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Printers
Double-click to open the appropriate printer's queue. The Print dialog box will open. Here you will see a list of all of the jobs waiting to print, along with the status of each job. The first print job is at the top of the list.
To cancel a document in the list, right-click it and select Cancel Printing. Most often, it is better to cancel all of the jobs and then resend the documents to the printer.
Cancel All Documents
  • Windows 98 - click Printer on the menu, select “Purge Print Documents”
  • Windows XP - click Printer on the menu, select “Cancel All Documents”
  • Windows Vista - click Printer on the menu, select “Cancel All Documents”
Please note that you must have Administrative rights in Windows XP and Vista to cancel print jobs. If you are the only user, you automatically have administrative rights. If you are on a multi-user computer, you must be an administrator. If are on a network and get a message saying that you do not have Administrative rights, find someone who does.
Under normal circumstances, printing documents are cancelled and will disappear from the queue. If one or more do not disappear, shutdown the computer and restart. When shutting down, you may get a message warning you that your print jobs will be lost if you continue. Tell Windows to shutdown anyway. When you restart, Windows may tell you that you have print jobs waiting. Tell Windows to delete them.
Before you resume work, open the Print Queue from the Start menu. You should find the queue empty. If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista and the queue is not empty, you will be unable to print. Before trashing your computer, you can try to clear the queue using a secret Windows command.
Click Start, Run, and type “Net Stop Spooler” (without the quotes). Then press Enter. Shutdown the computer and restart. The print jobs should be removed. If they are not, shut down the computer again, take a deep breath, and then go for a long walk. The queue should be clear when you return. Note that you must restart the computer for your printers to resume normal operation.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

Error code 311

The Error 311 indicates a communication error between the Mac and the printer. If you upgraded the Mac from Leopard to Snow Leopard, there could be older driver files for the iP4300 that are conflicting with the new driver. Therefore I would start your repair by trashing all of the Canon files.

The first step is to disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the Mac.

The next step is to delete the current printer queue for the iP4300. Open Print & Fax, select the iP4300 in the list and click the minus ( - ) button to remove the queue. You can now exit Print & Fax.

The third step is to remove the Canon files. These are located in HD > Library > Printer > Canon > BJPrinter. Select all the files inside this folder and trash them. Then empty the Trash and restart the Mac.

With the Mac restarted, you can now run the installer for the 10.6 driver you downloaded from the Canon web site. Ensure this driver is version 10.26.0.0.

Once the driver has been installed you can connect the iP4300 USB cable to the Mac again and open Print & Fax. If the install has worked, the printer should automatically appear in the Printers list (note that this can take several seconds). If the printer does not appear, click + to add and select the Default view. The iP4300 should appear in this view. Select it and click Add. You may get a prompt stating the printer is already installed. If so, cancel this install and try printing with the new iP4300 queue.

If the error message still occurs, then I would try another USB cable. They have been known to cause the 311 error.

My printer will not print. When you check the status of the document it says printing. When you cancel that it doesn't cancel. DAYS later the document prints all by itself. What's that about?

It's because the print queue is saved on the printer's flash memory. This happens when you don't cancel the queues properly or terminated improperly. To get rid of the issue, always try to give the command slowly and don't over load. If you are printing photos, try to make the file size small so that it'll not take long to spool and prepare for printing.

When the problem occurs, so as follows:

Cancel the queues from the print status box ("Cancel all documents"), if they are not cancelled, then turn off the printer (directly unplug the power cord from the printer), it you still see the printing status, keep on cancelling until everything's gone.

If the problem persists, restart your computer. Definitely the problem will be fixed.

It's also important to press the cancel button while the printer powers On.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Print job will not delete from queue

There are times using windows, that the printer queue gets jammed or frozen. You can continue to right click on the document and chose cancel printing and go to the file menu and click on cancel all several times and see what happens.

If all else fails, a restart of windows will clear that print queue. Although I know that doing a restart is sometimes inconvenient. But to be honest, windows really needs to be restarted on a routine or regular basis.

I hope you found this helpful. Please get back to me if you need any additional help on this issue.

Can't cancel a HP PSC 750 Printer print job.

Hi,
Right click on MyComputer and click Manage. Then go to Services and Applications and then Services. Find the Print Spooler services in the list and right click to stop it. When it is stopped try to cancel the document again. Then start the print spooler service again.

Failing to cancel a document from queue

When a document does not cancel, it is probably due to a Print driver error. I would delete the printer from the printer queue. Then click on add printer and reinstall it again. It should see the driver and reinstall. If this does not work, re-install the printer from the cd..
