Partner 18 light on extension stays on

After a call is finished and both parties hang up, the light still remains lit on the mother phone for that extension. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you know what is programmed to the button that the light is on? If you don't know you can press FEATURE 00 and then press the buttons on the phone. This will get you into the station programming so you can see what is programmed to the phone. let me know if you have any questions.

The mail inbox stays lit even though there are no messages. How do I fix this?

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Lucent Partner 34D phone system with 18D extensions

That doesn't sound good at all. I would first try powering down the system and waiting about 15 seconds or so before powering back up. If the problem remains, the processor was some how damagedand would be best if it was looked at by your vendor.

I have a Lucent (Avaya) Partner 18 phone system. One extension will not ring when there is an incoming call. I have set the extension to immediate ring but it still does not work. Any other ideas to try?

see if the DND or do not disturb is on. It should be a lit button programmed on the set, if its not programmed press feature 00, press a blank button and press feature 01

Line light stays lit all the time, on a Patner Phone system

Need more info. Is it all lines or just one?
Try rebooting a processor.
If problem still there disconect all extensions and add one at a time. Monitor lights on the phone. You might have a shorted jack somewhere.

Transferring

Since you're asking this question in the Partner 18 category, I'm guessing it's a Partner phone.

1. Transfer from a system phone is done by pressing the TRANSFER button and either dialing the 2 digit extension or the DSS button programmed for that phone.

2. Transfer from a single line phone is by flashing the hookswitch (FLASH) button and dialing the 2 digit extension.

3. Transfer into voice mail is done by programming a button or pressing FEATURE 14 and the 2 digit extension.

Adding an extension

If you program that button to ba a DSS button for that station (41) it will intercom that station, can be used to transfer calls to that station, and will light up when it's busy. It could be called something else in programming like Station Intercom Button, Quick Transfer Key, etc..

Problem is, your phone can be used on many different Avaya phone systems that all program differently.

The manuals for the phones and systems are all available free at www.avaya.com but you need to know which system you have before looking for the manual.

If the message waiting light is on. Is it lit on ext 10? If so, there might be a message in the general mailbox.

Log into voicemail
Use mailbox 9991 #
password is 123456 #

See if there are messages in there.
