Roper is owned by whirlpool and are at least in part manufactured in the USA. There is a plant in Michigan and Georgia....I'm sure there are others.

Brand new dryer wont heat

depending on which model roper dryer it can be a thermal fuse,high-limit thermostat, cycling switch, burned off wire in control panel, check each side of the heating element to ground and find 125 v.a.c. then on the side of the element that has low or no voltage on it to ground start at the element and back track the components leading to the dead leg on the element till you find 125 vac to ground and replace or repair component or wire, then you should get 240 to 250vac across heating element terminals

Where is roper thermal fuse, its an older dryer

Hello,

On older Whirlpool brand dryers(roper is made by Whirlpool) the thermal fuse is usually always in the blower housing..to get to it ya would need to remove the back panel.
This video shows who to replace the thermal fuse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUQQJAxkZ0g

Many Roper Dryers use Whirlpool parts. Have a look at these two diagrams to see if yours looks the same:

DEAR FRIEND,
ngfam1 here for you!
I am happy to be of assistance!

Roper is owned by Electrolux. Call them and get the wiring chart!
or Frigidaire.com too!

OR
Here is the service company I refer my appliance customers too!
A&E Factory Service
A Nation Wide Company. / Available 24 / 7 for arranging appointments! In the USA.
1(800) 905-9505

If this dryer is 10 years old or more do not spend any money on it!
The new ones are much more efficient! If you have to replace it buy a Speed Queen , it will do 8 loads a week for 25 years!
It's the last washer and dryer I will ever buy!!!! And less expensive than a top of the line unit!

Good luck!
You will be fine now!

Thank You
Bless you,ngfam1
PS. PLEASE GIVE ME A GOOD RATING HERE ON FIXYA.COM BEFORE YOU SIGN OFF!
