Did it die when the door was closed with a bit of gusto, if so you need to remove the outer casing and check the internal fuses. these blow for unknown reasons.

When I attempt to enter anything with the keypad the display says "locked". Is there some way to unlock it.

Many microwaves have children locks. Of course they are for safety reasons. they are for tricking the little kids from playing with the big people toys.

Process A
To Turn the Control Lockout Feature On or Off:
  1. Make sure the microwave oven and timer are off.
  2. Press and hold the CANCEL keypad for 3 seconds.
  3. 2 tones will sound and "LOC" or a padlock icon will be displayed (indicating the control is LOCKED).
  4. Repeat to unlock. Again, 2 tones will sound.
Process B
To Turn the Control Lockout Feature On or Off:
  1. Make sure the microwave oven and timer are off.
  2. Press and hold the START keypad for 5 seconds.
  3. 2 tones will sound and "L" will be displayed (indicating the control is LOCKED)
  4. Repeat to unlock. Again, 2 tones will sound.
Hope this helps?

Why would my kenmore micro wave model 721.66463500 just go dead, no power

There may be a weakened connection around the main power supply 'Transformer'. Sometimes the connections can overheat but if they are removed and replaced it may again make contact. I've had a similar problem and found parts from similar brands to replace the connecting/wiring parts. I soon realized that I could have removed the extra pieces around the wires without causing any electrical problems. That is the minor repair. The major repair would be to replace one of the main features (large or small) which assist the transformer in power functions. Take your time examining the tiniest parts and pieces.

My microwave GE model # JVM1440WH04 spacemaker has no heat coming out of it. My husband heated microwave lasagna in it last, everything works except for the heat, any solutions?

Push the microwave door tightly closed. The computer will not start cooking until the door is closed for safety reasons. Some models of microwave will give a warning on the screen if the door is open.
2

Ensure you have programmed a heat setting, entered a cooking time and pressed the "Start" button on the microwave's keypad. Check that the microwave is not set to "Defrost" mode.
3

Unplug the microwave and wait for one minute. This measure will reset the microwave's internal computer if it has frozen or scrambled. Plug the microwave back in and try again.
4

Ensure the keypad lock mode is inactive. Most microwave ovens have a lockout feature that prevents children from starting the microwave while unsupervised. Lockout mode is usually deactivated by holding down the button that bears a padlock symbol

Mw oven totally dead. 2 year old panasonic

No sorry there is none... look what usually happens is the magnetron, or high power diode, or Oower Supply goes faulty, a magnetron can cost between $95 - $150, or more...and usually that is NOT the only part that will/would need replacing. Cut your losses, and get a firm "Quote" from a repair center, or get a new one, with a 5 year Warranty.

Locked ge spacemaker xl1800

This sounds like the "child lockout" feature is on. Does the door open, but the microwave won't work. Press the "clear/off" button for 3 seconds or so if this is what you're experiencing. If not, I apologize for wasting your time.

Sucka just plain died

If the light doesn't come on when you open the door, then it's dead, and it's quite possibly a blown fuse. It would be 15A or 20A white or dark gray ceramic type, located behind the control panel or by the door switches. They can be bought at local big box stores and appliance parts stores. If the lights work, but it won't respond, then you probably have a control panel or keypad problem. A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics. We repair microwave control panel assemblies for customers nationwide for $32.50 in most cases. I have a file of critical safety important safety information that I suggest you read before you proceed. You can find it by doing a search on Yahoo.com (not Google) for microwave circuit repair If you decide to send it for service, an exploded view of your control panel (all of which would have to be sent) is at http://tinyurl.com/y7e6um (originally here) http://www3.sears.com/Paul/Leadimage.asp?productTypeID=0123245&brandID=0582&modelDesc=MICROWAVE%20OVEN&modelNumber=56560502990&documentID=P9110178&documentTypeID=PLDM&documentClassCode=PM&titleType=CONTROL%20PANEL&titleID=00004& Post back if I can help further. Be safe!
