I have comcast cable and internet but my cords wont reach to where my computer is, I also have a wireless linksys adater on my hard drive. Am I able to connect to my comcast modem with this?

That depends on what comcast modem you have. If it has an integrated router, yes. If it is just a modem not. Simply spoken, a modem just converts your computer's digital signal to whatever is on the other side, usually analog. It doesn't do what a router does - routing the signal.
Just reply to this post and let me know what model of modem you have and I can give you a definite answer.

Just got comcast cable internet and i cant get your router to work

The router should work out-of-box.Ensure that you have an ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN/uplink port on your router.
I would also call comcast and verify they have the correct MAC address for your modem. If they don't your service will not work period.

Netgear wirless - installed on toshiba satellite a45 - S151 will not connect to internet router = comcast - linksys also causes conflict with connection of other wireless computer

Presumably, you have configured your wireless router:
* SSID (your "network name")
* encryption-level ('WPA' or higher security)
* password for your network

With that information, any wireless device (iPod Touch, iPhone, NetGear wireless adapter) should be able to connect to your wireless router.

> conflict with connection

Exactly what error-message are you getting?

How do I hook up a Berklin wireless router to my comcast internet

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the port on the Comcast modem to the WAN port on the Berklin (Belkin????) router.
Use another Ethernet cable to connect one of the LAN ports on the router to the Ethernet port on your computer.
Start Internet Explorer on your computer.
Connect to the web-interface inside the router.
Run the "network setup wizard".
Run the "wireless setup wizard".

How do I hook d link up to my comcast router so that I can use it with my laptop?

Well, you are trying to connect a router to a router, that can be difficult. Is there anyway you can exchange the Dlink router for a Wireless Access Point (AP)? If you can, you just connect the AP to the 4-port network side of the comcast router, configure the wifi settings (security, etc), and you're good to go.
If you can't exchange it, then your best bet is to connect the 4-port (or internal) side of the dlink router to the 4-port side of the comcast router. Then the dlink will be seen by the comcast router as another internal connection, and you can set the wifi settings of the dlink at that point. If you connect the dlink to the comcast router via the External port on the dlink, then you are creating two separate IP subnets, a needless complex setup.

I have comcast cable net and D-link WBR 1310

Hi, forget about the USB connection since you wanted to use a router for your wireless connection. Contact Comcast asnd make sure they assist you in making your computer connect to the Internet using the ethernet connection because you are going to use the ethernet connection for the modem-router connection. Once your computer is online with the ethernet connection, you can connect your Dlink router to the modem and configure it for Internet connection. There will be more steps before you can use the wireless connection. Just make sure you can get online with ethernet connection first.

the key code is the security code or the password that is enabled in the router,are you trying to connect to you own comcast network or to someone elses??
if you are conecting to your own comcast network then you need to log into the computer which can go online using you comcast box,once you are in that computer you need to go ahead and click on start,run in the box type in cmd and hit enter,it shud open a black box for you in this black box go ahead and check the default gateway an example of default gateway wud be like this no 192.168.1.1,make a note of the default gateway and open an internet explorer page now type the default gateway in the address box without http,it shud open the router page for you from comcast,it will tell you to put in the user name and password,the default for comcast is username is comcast and password is 1234 incase you cannot login you can contact comcast so that they can reset the password for you,once you are in this page you will see the wireless setting click on it and there you will see something wghich says wireless security or wep key or authentication key that is the key code..u can now use this key code to connect to the network....
if you are trying to conect to someone elses network thent he person who has setup the wireles comcast network will be able to give you the network key...
