Question about Whirlpool GU2400XTP Built-in Dishwasher

2 Answers

There is water in the bottom of dish washer after finishing. If I start another cycle, everything drains, so it's not a problem with the hose. I hear water draining. I think it is the drain time. When the machine was under warranty, the service guy came and changed the drain time to longer. He told me how to do it, via the buttons, but have now forgotten where I put such great information. I have a 1996 built in model.

We have come up on this many many times. It is not drain time. There is a flapper in the drain hose located where the hose attaches to the pump with towels remove the hose and stick you finger in. It is and angled piece of rubber so it will be difficult but you will feel a flapper. Press lightly on it and make sure it is positioned so that is open freely when you press thus the water will move freely.

Dishwasher washes dishes but does not dry even though that display shows dry icon

First ,Check for a water puddle on the bottom of the dishwasher .If you have water there, you more than likely have a plugged drain or drain hose, or bad drain pump (less likely) If no water is there see if the dishes are hot after a cycle. If they are not you could have a bad heater (that circular thing on the bottom of the dishwasher) other problems could be the timer or computer Depending on the model brand and age of the dishwasher .One last thing there is a vent to let moisture escape that could be bad but then you would have hot wet dishes

How to diagnose the problem

check the outlet pipe to see that the water can flow easily, not bent. It looks like that the dishwasher is unable to drain the water through the hose.

Cycle starts, but does not fill with water

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

Dish washer not emptying

put your model # into a google search and choose a place that has parts and look up your drain pump. you probably have either a clogged drain hose, not likely, or a bad pump.

Water did not drain from the bottom

Hello Cheryl, There are a couple of possibilities. When the dishwasher drains the dirty water it is a time based function. This leads me to believe it is a blockage or partial blockage in the drain hose.
Here is an example. (If your dishwasher drains into your garbage disposal) washing dishes you put scraps into the disposal and forget to turn it on after you are done. The disposal is filled with scraps this restricts the flow of dirty waterfrom the dishwasher. If the flow is restricted less water is being drained per second from the dishwasher. This is why the dishes still looked clean and there was still water in the bottom of the dishwasher.
(if your dishwasher drains into a drain pipe) there is blockage or partial blockagein the dishwasher drain hose. if the sink drains slowly the blockage is in the main line
Hope this helps

Water left in bottom of dishwasher after cleaning

I suggest checking the drain and screen. There is most likely a little clog in there. If there is even the slightest amount of clog, the washer will not finish the drain cycle.

Water left after finishing wash

I have a Bosch Dishwasher and the E-Nr is SGS4362EU/03. The machine is approximately 4 years old, in good condition and has been working very well. Suddenly, there is water remaining after it completes a 50 degrees C wash cycle. This is also evident with the pre wash cycle and the 65 degrees wash cycle.

I have checked and cleaned the filters. I have loosened the internal pump white cover (Torx T 20 screw) and checked for any physical blockage - none. I have also checked for any drainage hose kinks - none.

I have tried a series of empty washes and the machine drains the water during the wash cycles. The dishes are also have a dull colour and show show signs of not being properly rinsed during the wash cycle.

Please assist.

Reagrds,

Brian
