I have tried 4 different ink cartridges, but it goes thtough the motion and nothing prints. I even tried thick papers but no luck. It is as if the electronics can not activate the ink usage. Thanks (mp390)

It was working fine just two days ago but today I received a fax and it was a blank page. I have tried to copy and print something off the computer but still nothing. I sent a fax but the confirmation page was blank as well. I replaced the ink, cleaned the heads and nozzle and roller. Can anyone think of anything else that it could be?

Hi!
I originally gave this fix for another post, but this might help you out too. I have an MP390 which once gave me a similar problem, but I managed to fix it and continue to maintain it using this technique.
Anyway, here are the steps! :^)

Outline:
Open the printer as though you were going to replace the ink tanks. Once opened, with the print head centered, open the latch to release the print head. Gently remove the print head (it should come right out, even easier than the ink cartridges normally would). Take a paper towel, wet it with warm water, and then gently clean the bottom part of the print head. The bottom part is the part that will have an orange ribbon running to four metal openings that look like tiny nozzles. After wiping away all of the built-up gunk (on mine there was a thick sludge), grab a new and wet paper towel, and lightly press it against the nozzles. This should start sucking ink through the print head, and you will begin to see four distinct colors (CMYK) bleeding into the towel. Once done, lightly dry the print head off (make sure that there are no loose water droplets) and then reassemble everything. Print a test page and everything should work. If it doesn't change the ink tanks just to be sure.

Fortunately for you, Canon has made the print head on the MP390 very easy to service/remove, so cleaning is a snap.

Steps:

  1. Turn Printer On
  2. Open Printer As If To Change Ink Tanks
  3. Release Ink Tank Latch
  4. Remove Print Head (Black Plastic Assembly In Which Ink Tanks Rest)
  5. Use Wet Paper Towel (With Warm Water) To Clean Tank/Nozzle
  6. Dry Excess Water
  7. Reassemble
  8. Close Printer
  9. Print Test Page

Good luck!!!

We have a spooling problem. The sharp mx-2300n just says "ripping" and 20% complete but won't move from there and print anything. Can cancel print job from Mac but won't stop anything at the printer end....

Go into the Job review mode and highlight the pending print job (note: it may be stuck in processing). You should then get the option to delete the job.

Make sure that the pending print job is also cleared from the network print queue. They can sit in the queue and be persistent on processing, even after you've cleared the copier. Clear the queue prior to deleting the job on the copier.

If this doesn't, disconnect the copier from your network and try the above steps again, then reboot the copier and reconnect it to your network.

If you're trying to print out Adobe-based web pages from the internet, this may be what's causing your copier to jam up. There's known coding anomalies with Adobe-embedded documents on web pages. Trying to directly print from the web page can stall or lock up the print process.

Hp Photosmart A500 All-in-One series

This has to do with your printer setup within windows and not the printer itself.

Within the options when you press the print button there should be something that says "print frames" and "print as appears on the screen". Make sure the latter is selected.

Also, this frames issue is an old one. Make sure that your browser is up to date.

In addition, I prefer Google Maps (maps.google.com), which doesnt use frames (which is a VERY old web technlology) which is much better than Mapquest (which is owned by AOL)

For some unknown reason my hp 6310 has just started printing internet text (mapquest, orbitz etc) either very small (Joey's resturant menu) or very large (google map directions) any help, please.

Check if Hp smart web printing is installed in the computer.
Try uninstalling it.
also goto the printing preferences and check the settings there.

This issue can be fixed easily.

Try to print mapquest directions and sends blank sheet out

Internet printing can be tricky because everything is in HTML which is not designed for printing but for clicking. So there are links and features but when you try to print it can be blank or half pages. Is there a button on the site that says printable view or print these directions or something similar? If you click on that it should allow you to print the page as you see it on your screen.

How do you make print size larger on hp office jet v40

When you bring up your directions in mapquest, under the red "MapQuest" logo in the upper lefthand corner there are these options:

prt-btn.png Print Save Send To Click on the "Print" option and a printer-friendly version will appear. You can choose "text and map" or "text only," then click on print and your printer options box will appear. I hope this helps.

Hello windymejia4,
Try these things. 1. is the tape still covering cartidges? Take off and try to print? 2. Is the right print drve picked? control panel, printer , make sure your printer is picked as defualt. 3. did you allow printer to do alignment? 4. see if ink will smug your finger with ink, when one of the cartdges is taken out? If not use a pencil eraser and erase the mental tip where ink is suppose to come out? Is this a fixya?
