Question about Belkin Computers & Internet

I have problems with connecting to the internet when ever i want to. Comcast said it was not a problem on their end. I have both a router and modem from your company. What gives? Susan Tickel 713-885-8465.

    I did move my computer closer to the router and modem, and will directly connect my router to the computer, and go from there.

    My modem and router i bought from Belkin, and it's only two months old, how do i get a refund with out the box? I spent $200.00 dollars on equipment from Belkin and it's faulty. That a lot of money to throw in the trash!!

Hello, First I will suggest to try working directly from the modem without a router, this way you can eliminate the router as the source of the problem. Once you re-connect the PC with just the Modem, perform a power cycle on the modem to refresh the IP.
If this still does not work, try updating the drivers for your network adapter, which you will find at the respective manufactures website.

    Hi once you eliminate the router and network adapter as the source of the problem the only posible solution is to have Comcast replace your modem. Best of luck.

1.call comcast and ask them to put your modem on bridge mode.
2. Once the modem is on bridge mo the internet light will turn OFF
3. connect your comcast modem using the Ethernet cord to the Internet port at the back of your netgear router.
4. connect another ethernet cable from port number 1 from the back of your router and the other end should be connected at the back of your computer.

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Your ISP should have given you the following information...
Static IP, Internet IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Static DNS 1-3.
With that information at hand, follow tis link to the router user manual and go to Page 11 of the manual to go through the step by step process of setting the router up for an internet connection.

Internet connection issue. Is it setup or internet service


The problem would be comcast. Your connections are setup correctly. The modems do not control the internet traffic flow, they are made to produce maximum flow.
If more people use the internet, the less flow it will have.
Check all internet options settings, and make sure EVERTHING is set to automatic

Router wont work with new modem

I cannot connect with linksys wireless router


From your description, you appear to be connected to the router fine.

Try powering down the modem from Comcast for about 2 minutes then power it back up. If it doesn't come back, call Comcast service as it is likely on their end.

Netgear wgt624 just stopped connecting to internet


I encountered the same problem, with the same modem and also Comcast, and here's what wound up working for me, after time spent with a nice guy on the Netgear customer support line:

1. Log into router: http://192.168.0.1 (or 192.168.1.1) - user: admin / password: password

2. Under Maintenance, click Router Status. If IP Address is listed as 0.0.0.0, there's your problem-- router isn't getting address from modem.

3. At bottom of Basic Settings, under Router MAC Address, change selection from Use Default Address to Use Computer MAC Address.

4. Click Apply.

5. Click Router Status again-- non-blank IP address should now be listed.

6. Basic Settings will now show MAC address under Use This MAC Address. See if you can get online now. I could, and I hope you can, too!

Connection Issue ~ D-Link DI 514


Connect to your router, then on the computer click start/run, type CMD at the >, type ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew this will reset all ip address from your computer through your router to your modem. this should fix the problem. BPCS
