Hi,

Your System memory is upgradeable:
256 or 512 MB fitted as standard upgradeable to 1 GB of DDR2 533 memory, or 2 GB using two soDIMM modules.

Regards,
Mike.

Yes, you can upgrade to a maximum of 2 GB using two soDIMM modules, but to be honest, 1 GB of DDR2 should be plenty of memory for your system.

Even the 1 GB option is 4 times your existing 256 and increasing ram, whilst always beneficial, no matter how much ram you install, it will NOT increase the performance of your system greatly.
This can only be improved bu a faster CPU (processor).

    Thank you for your rating.

    Best wishes,
    Mike.

I am not familiar with the memory module you mentioned or its compatibility.

I suggest you visit http://www.crucial.com/ and use their online system tool to ensure you select the correct module.

A 1GB module should cost around £11 GBP or approx $15

    Best wishes,

    Mike.

You can upgrade it to 2GB (MAX) if icon_detail.gifMemory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 2GB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.

Hope this helps.

I want to upgrade my processor and memory on my acer travelmate 4000. I currently have an Intel Pentium M 1.5GHz 496RAM processor. I have 2 memory slots each containing 256MB type DDR PC2700, DDR...

I suggest adding 2X 1GB DDR PC2700 memory sticks. Crucial also recommends it, but as long as it's only 1gb thats DDR PC2700 per stick it's compatible, so you can shop around if you like and choose the cheapest.

Hope this helps!

Problem with upgrading my acer extensa 5620z memory to 4GB

Hi there.
I recommend you get another stick of SODIMM to replace what seems to be the faulty stick.
If you are using XP or Vista X86 (32bit) then the system will only recognize 2.8 - 3GB of memory, only 64bit operating systems recognize the full 4GB.

Good luck ad thanks for using FixYa!!

Acer TravelMate 2303WLCi

Hello,
Your particular model of laptop will allow up to 2GB of memory. Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.
As for the hard drive, I believe the standard 2.5" drive is compatible in any size you'd prefer.

Good place to check how much or what kind of ram you need. Let them do a scan, or put in what pc you have. It's safe to use.
