Make sure you have the knob on a cycle selection. Sometimes while loading, you may hit the knob and get it just in between a selection and might not start. If that isn't it, I would say you need to replace your start button. Take the control panel off and if you have a volt meter, test to see if there is a current.

The solution to the "LOC" error depends on many factors, including which Elite model machine you own and the cause of the error. If your machine has an "Options" and a "Select" button, try pressing and holding these for five seconds to clear the locking error. You can also try unplugging the machine for five minutes and then plugging it back in .
How long is long? I have to hold the button down for about 5 seconds and I think that is to keep from accidentally turning the machine on . If it is longer than 5 seconds then maybe something IS wrong.
if unplugging and holding any button down for a few sec don't work without knowing why you need to "reset" can't help you if unit dead may be several things if buttons not working properly may be interface
Have you tried pressing and holding the DRAIN/SPIN button down for three seconds? This button is used to lock and unlock the control panel. The instructions should be printed right under the button. If the problem isn't a simple fix, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
try unplugging then hold power button down for 10 secs or so with power removed this may help reset the control bd may even try holding lock button down longer than 3 secs i usually hold until light goes out
