Switch the machine on without a disc in and press I-scan.

This worked instantly for me when I had the same problem this week with my DVD55 i.e. we switched the machine on once and had sound but no picture. I found the following at http://www.cambridgeaudio.com customer care.

'The most likely cause of this is when the machine is set to output progressive scan. This will ussually only send a signal out to the component video jacks on the unit, and scart, svhs, and composite video will be bypassed. To return the units video output to interlace scan, press the I-scan button on the remote control.
If you are trying to turn on the HDMI connection on your DVD player, please be aware that this can only be done when there is no disc in the machine.'

Hope this helps and you haven't hit it with a hammer yet.

I cant get dvd recorder to record ext 2

Firstly, is the scart lead plugged in fully? Does it get the sound or nothing?
Is the recorder sitched to the correct input? It may be trying to pull a signal from the TV which may not be passing through the picture from the sky box.
Also, is the scart lead fully wired? Some only work one way so try spinning it round between the recorder and sky box.

Wharfedale DVD recorder, no sound. Scart lead connected to Sky Box & scart connection to TV. Picture OK & can play DVD's or record to HD but no sound.

HI if you mean scart connectors on rear of DVD recorder, try swapping scart inputs on DVD recorder and if no joys then on set top box. (some units have 1 input designated for TV and the other for Set top box input)

Trying to plug in dvd player and only get black and white picture. I have a Loewe Individual 26 tv

you must check for correct cable and tv input (AV1,...) then check another tv, and change the cables if necessary, always check correct TV Input.
if the dvd player is the same situation on diferent tv and cable, you have DVD Output problem. In this situation U must send to repair shop.

Note: On market has diferent kinds of cable, some better, some low quality, Check for SCART Gold Connector,( better cable with 21 shilled conductors) not the 6 conductor cable with plastic connector (low price), if HDMI cable use top shilled Cable available on the best Audio/Video retail shops.

Get picture but no sound

If you gettting Picture but no sound this is Normally down to a scart lead not connected correctly.

Please try pushing the scart lead in fully on the back of your Dvd player also check the back of your Tv as well. This should sort the sound problem out for you.

If for any reason this does not work then please try another scart cable incase the one you have connected now is faulty.

Hope this helps you out. If so then please leave a Thumbs up

Cheers

I am not getting a picture only sound from my dvd player. What do I have wrong?

if you have connected it to tv via a scart lead, make sure it is fully in on both ends, if it is not fully in, you will get sound but no picture, failing that, try a different scart lead
