Question about Printers & Copiers

4 Answers

I have an HP 7310 PRinter and I wish to remove and replace the button battery. I ran across the following comment on line. My question is, how do you get to the button battery. I've already got the printer backup and working. It has a button battery that's rather easy to get too and I . . . . . . . Thank you, Henry - hjhfirst@aol.com

Hey,

In order to get to the flat button batter (3volt in most cases) You would need to take printer the fully apart untill you get the board(s) out so you can get to the battery and replace it.

I've looked at the pictures You have sent us. and I don't see the battery in any of them, but I do see the mainboard, you wll need to disconnect all cables, and write down on paper which goes where.

You will need to take the printer apart to get to the battery.

this is the clearest picture I was able to get of the mainboard
I have an HP 7310 - b7efaae.jpg
I don't see the battery on this side of the board, please look it over and both sides.

The battery is possibly at another location on the printer.

I haven't been able to get a service manual for this printer so I don't have exact instructions for you. But it appears the battery may not be on the mainboard instead it can be separate at another part of the printer.

You will really need to take the fully apart as much as it comes to find the battery. Do write down on paper what goes where incase you don't have a memory of a genius :-)

Let me know if you need anything else or if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Ekse

Go to the HP web site and click support, find your printer in the lists of devices, all the info on your printer will be there as well as detailed instructions on how to change the battery, if it is not email support, it is free.

sounds as if your scanner bulb is fualty I would suggest doing a power cycle - by removing the power cord while on wait ten seconds and plug cord back in or try a different power socket (preferbly a direct socket without any adapters connected to it)

After changing printer cartridge, all printed pages have 3 black horizontal lines across the page about an inch apart.

It sounds to me that you need to run the clean print cartridges utility.

  1. Press the Setup button.
  2. Use the arrow keys to select Tools and then press the OK button.
  3. Select Clean Print Cartridge and then press OK . The device prints a test page.
  4. Examine the test page. If the print quality of the page is good, stop here. If the print quality is bad, go on to the next step for further cleaning.
    1. Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:
    1. Open HP Director , select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
    • If the HP Director method does not work, open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and choose Properties . Click on Printing Preferences . Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon.
    1. The Printer Toolbox opens. On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Print Cartridges , then follow the on-screen instructions. Up to three levels of cleaning are available. Discard or recycle the page that prints.
    2. If above does not work, then remove the black cartridge, and olace it upside down in an area it won't be disturbed for an hour, then place it back in the printer, and print a test page. (This only applies to black cartridges)

usually when there is a defect on printing out while you have changed the cartridges , you will need to consider changing the printheads of that printer.
