Laptop has shut down with no power lights

I have a dell inspiron b130 laptop computer that has shut completly down,no power light even when plugged into an outlet.

Hi,
Take the battery off completely and drain the flea power from the laptop by holding down the power button while the battery is off. Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds to ensure no power remains on the laptop. Check if your battery has a drain button too. Drain the battery and place it back on the laptop.
Charge it for about 30 minutes before you turn it on. See if it works.

Having read what others are saying it seems to be a very common problem with this laptop, you can try to ignore it or run your laptop direct from the mains WITHOUT the battery plugged in.

Upgraded RAM but won't startup - 2 green LEDs light for a few seconds then shuts down - nothing on screen ever comes up


Try removing the RAM you just installed and swap the DIMMs between sockets, being careful to be sure the units are seated COMPLETELY. Make sure you are installing memory modules designed for your computer, and reboot. This should take care of your problem.

My inspiron laptop wont turn on after I replaced


Verify that you obtained an exact replacement power adapter for the Dell. If it is an exact replacement then try this. Disconnect power adapter. Remove battery. Reconnect power adapter without the battery. If it turns on, then power off and place battery back in. Then try again. If problem returns, there could be a problem with the battery itself.

Sounds like a bad AC adapter not charging the system. If a known good adapter has the same issue (Or this adapter works on another system) then it is a motherboard replacement

Inspiron Battery Light Flashing Orange


Battery.

Dell has a chip internal to the battery programed to shut down after a certain number of charge cycles. This means every time you plug the laptop in with the battery installed. When it reaches this determined number the battery effectively shuts down, even though technically it's still good. There have been loads of complaints on the net toward Dell over this issue. I have myself experience this. Battery good one day, powered down, went home, powered up... only to receive the deadly flashing light. Only cure is to replace battery. Several hacks trying to get around this but they're all horrible. Bad Dell - bad, bad Dell!

My Inspiron B130 will not charge,even with a new battery. I plug in the power cord, will not charge still. No power light, nothing


just had the same problem- the socket where you plug in the adapter had shorted out-needed to be resodered-no big~100$
BUT my ac adapter was bad as well- may have caused the short (they are cheap on ebay)

And from there U can set the things According to u

Hi!

Im sorry to inform you that the motherboard on your computer needs to be replaced. If the ac adapter light turns on if not plugged into the system and when you do plug it in, it dims or flashes, that's a right out symptom that the motherboard needs to be replaced. Do you still have warranty for that system? if you do, call Dell Tech Support and have them replace it. If the warranty is already expired, please call Dell at 1-800-2884410 for an estimate on how much it would cost you to have the motherboard replaced. Usually would be around $400 - $500 and 5-8 business days. Unfortunately, you have to ship the system back to Dell for that repair.
