Question about Sony Cameras
Have Sony Cybershot DSC W100 camera. It got dunked in a toilet for about 2 seconds. Since then it won't work. I dried it off and applied low heat to dry it out.( happened about 6 months ago) It won't turn on. Anybody know what parts probably got damaged. Is it worth fixing? I paid about $200 for it. Is it possible to buy parts for the camera? It is out of warranty.
Sorry to say that once the camera comes in deep water , all parts get rusty and specially the ccd becomes faulty , u can still check some solutions
1. Check the batteries replace them , see the terminals i mean contacts where the batteries remain check for rusty contacts if there is some rust try removing it with some liquid used to remove rust.
2. if u have power supply like adapter try it on that see if power comes on..
3. check out the memory card is it faulty or got rusty replace it . some cameras dont power up when card is faulty.
4. u can get its circuit board washed buy some local technician in ur area try it there bcoz if u go to sony they will charge u more and return it or u can atleast get a quote from them if they diagnose ur problem free , but in this case i dont think that much is left bcoz once these parts getts rust they no more work like IC chips transistors, very small parts in there .
pls check the solutions and rate me if u find me helpful
