Dell C610 keyboard problem

My dell keyboard keys do not work according to what is printed on the key.
The problem occurred after i formatted it some time back.
The question mark key is located at the top right of the keyboard near the backspace. Now the question mark key workd when i press the key located with the right shift key (as it is present in most normal keyboards)
Seems this keyboard needs some special driver to be installed. I have win XP.
Please help me out

The delete key is no longer working on my laptop. Any advice? Nothing changed in status that I can remember to cause it.

How old is your laptop; I had similar problems with my Dell Studio a few months before and I found out that the rubber 'things' under the keys are damaged and no more functioning because of the extensive usage. In this case you need to replace your keyboard (If you are under warranty then you can get a replacement). If your warranty is expired buy a keyboard and fix it yourself it is not that hard to do follow the instructions here to do it yourself :
Also check if there is something stuck underneath the key, if something is there use a small safety pin sized thin and flexible rode to remove it (some times this will solve your problem).

I have a stuck key on my lab top computer but i do not know witch one is stuck how do i determine witch key is stuck. this is on my dell latitude c610 labtop

There is not an easy way to see which key is sticking on your laptop. The good news is that a replacement keyboard will fix the problem, and it is easy to swap out, and not too expensive. They are usually only about $20 on ebay, and instructions are available too. If you buy a keyboard, and don't feel up to changing it, most computer shops will help you swap it out for not too much cash...
Hope you fix it!

Some keys stop working on keyboard

The particular keyboardpart must have gone. I had his problem with my Dell some years back. I removed the entire laptop, removed and reinstalled teh keyboard wire to the motherboard..and the problem did not arise. Happens whenever over heating occurs.

Keyboard problem

You just need a new keyboard - those are easy to come by check and search for C640 keyboard. New ones should only be about $30-$40.

To remove the keyboard you just remove all the screws on the bottom of the laptop that are marked with the letter "K" then carefully pop the keyboard up.

This is a rather old question, but the solution might still be helpful to other readers.

I suggest you call Tech Support at Dell...

Several years ago, I worked on many Dell CPx 500 models in my work place. There was an issue that always involved a series of 4 or 5 keys (they were always the same keys) that would quit working and we had attempted to purchase new keyboards to fix the issue. It turned out, the real solution was to replace the 'motherboard' of the Latitude notebook!

Dell had knowledge about the keyboard/motherboard issue that we didn't know.
