You can use the netsh command to configure Ip adresses.

1. IP via DHCP:
netsh set address name="MyLocalAreaConnection" source=dhcp

2. static IP:
netsh set address name="MyLocal AreaConnection" source=static addr=192.168.1.61 mask=255.255.255.0 gateway=192.168.1.1

- no line breaks in the commands
- change names and numbers to your needs
- check on mistyping and spaces between the commands

Can the management IP address of an ONT be configured?

ONT management IP addresses are classified as LAN-side management IP addresses and WAN-side IP addresses.
· The LAN-side management IP address can be configured. To do so, choose LAN > LAN Host Configuration from the main menu on the web page.
· The WAN-side management IP address is based on WAN port configurations.
§ If the WAN port statically obtains an IP address, the WAN-side management IP address can be configured. Ensure that the configured management IP address can communicate with the upper-layer device.
§ If the WAN port obtains an IP address in DHCP or PPPoE mode, the WAN-side management IP address can only be obtained from the DHCP server.

How to change the server aol to my google chrome on start up

Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) is a way to configure IP addresses and TCP/IP settings throughout your network.

The DHCP service is run on a machine with a static IP address so that the computers on the network can find it for automated configurations.

Setting the IP address on a Windows 2003 server is accomplished through the network configuration settings in Control Panel.

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Double-click "Network Connections." In this section, double-click "LAN Connection."

This opens the configuration tool to set the IP address of the server.

Select "TCP/IP" from the list of configured network applications and click the "Properties" button. This opens a new configuration window.

Select "Use the following IP address" to set a static IP for the server.
Enter the IP address chosen for the server in the first textbox that is activated.

Enter the subnet mask and default gateway for the server.
The default gateway is usually the router on the local network or the DSL or cable modem on a small, home network.

Enter the DNS server address.
The DNS servers are separate servers on the network.

For small, home networks, the DNS server is provided by your service provider.

Click the "Ok" button to save the settings. Click "Ok" again at the general LAN properties window.

Renew settings on local computers. Computers that use the DHCP server for configuration need to be rebooted.

You can also use the DOS command prompt to renew settings.
The "ipconfig -renew" command refreshes the settings on client computers on the network.

or for home page browser

Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or

Toolbar extensions and Accelerators you have

have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them

Click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode
type in ipconfig press enter
you will see all of your internet connection details

Hope this helps

What is the default ip address for powerconnect 5212

You must assign an IP address to the switch to gain management access over the network. You may also need to a establish a default gateway between the switch and management stations that exist on another network segment. You can statically configure a specific IP address or direct the switch to obtain an address from a Boot Protocol (BOOTP) or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server when it is powered on. Valid IP addresses consist of four decimal numbers, 0 to 255, separated by periods. Anything outside this format is not accepted by the CLI program. notice.gif NOTICE: By default, the IP address is assigned to VLAN 1 through DHCP. If you select the bootp or dhcp option, IP is enabled but does not function until a BOOTP or DHCP reply has been received. Requests are broadcast periodically by the switch in an effort to learn its IP address. (BOOTP and DHCP values can include the IP address, default gateway, and subnet mask).
To display assigned IP settings using the CLI:
  1. From the Privileged Exec or Normal Exec level mode, type show ip interface and press <Enter>.

The assigned IP address and subnet mask displays.

  1. From the Privileged Exec mode, type show ip redirects to display the assigned gateway IP address. Press <Enter>.

The following example displays IP settings assigned by bootp or dhcp using the CLI.

Console#show ip interface

IP address and netmask: 10.1.0.1 255.255.252.0 on VLAN 1,

and address mode: User specified.

Console# show ip redirects

ip default gateway 10.1.0.254

Console#
Before you can assign a static IP address to the switch, you must obtain the following information from your network administrator:

  • IP address for the switch

  • Default gateway for the network

  • Network mask for the network

To assign a static IP address to the switch:
  1. From the Privileged Exec level global configuration mode prompt, type interface vlan 1 to access the interface-configuration mode. Press <Enter>.

  2. Type ip address ip-address netmask, where ip-address is the switch IP address and netmask is the network mask for the network.

  3. Type exit to return to the global configuration mode prompt. Press <Enter>.

  4. To set the IP address of the default gateway for the network to which the switch belongs, type ip default-gateway gateway, where gateway is the IP address of the default gateway. Press <Enter>.

  5. To save your configuration changes, type copy running-config startup-config and then press <Enter>.

notice.gif NOTICE: Only one VLAN can be assigned an IP address. If you assign an address to any other VLAN, the new address overrides the original IP address. The following example shows how to set a static IP address using the CLI.

Console(config)# interface vlan 1

Console(config-if)# ip address 192.168.1.5 255.255.255.0

Console(config-if)# exit

Console(config)# ip default-gateway 192.168.1.254

Console(config)#
To configure the switch for DHCP or BOOTP:

  1. From the Privileged Exec level global configuration mode prompt, type interface vlan 1 to access the interface-configuration mode. Press <Enter>.

  2. At the next prompt, use one of the following commands:

    • To obtain IP settings through DHCP, type ip address dhcp

    • To obtain IP setting through BOOTP, type ip address bootp

  3. Press <Enter>.

  4. To save your configuration changes, type copy running-config startup-config, and then press <Enter>.

My Black Armor NAS keep changing its IP address and can't be accessed most of the time on the network. Hw can i fix this

Configure your network's DHCP-server to *ALWAYS* give the *SAME* IP-address to the NAS -- use the (unique) MAC-address of the NAS's network-adapter to assign a "static" or "fixed" IP-address to the NAS.

I dont know crouter configuration

Hai,

Look at your computer's IP configuration. Go to Network and Dial-up Connections, RIGHT CLICK on your network and pick PROPERTIES. Click on the Internet TCP/IP protocol, then click on the PROPERTIES button. Make sure that your settings are OBTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY.

Then get into your status screen and look at the GATEWAY address. Is that 192.168.0.1 ?

(If you are using Windows 95/98/ME, then go to RUN and go to WINIPCFG)

You can also use the COMMAND PROMPT and type IPCONFIG and it will show the Gateway address. If the Gateway address is slightly different, then try to get into it at that address.

Also from the COMMAND PROMPT, (or MS-DOS window) you can use the PING command. Just type PING 192.168.0.1. If your router responds, you might be OK.

Look at the lights on your ethernet card. Is it GREEN, or does it show YELLOW.

Try rebooting your computer and using PING again.

Then the problem presist it's possible that this Router is NO GOOD.

Hope this Helped!
