Emachines el1200 will not start up. When power button is turned on...it will blink shortly after ( no beeps ). It will not turn on monitor

Hello,
As mentioned that when you turn on the system the lights on the system turns on and the monitor goes off, unplug the VGA cable from the system tower and turn on the monitor and check if you get signals on the screen if it shows you some color bar or a massage, that means your monitor is good. IF not then there is problem with the monitor . get it repaired or replace it. If that is not the case you would need to unplug all the external devices connected to the tower and try, IF not then you need to open the tower and check for the green light on the motherboard if it comes on or you can try reseting the memory card or if you have an video card, then you will have to remove the card and try the build in one .

I need help in my computer, last night my computer's screen color is normal but today i start my computer so its screen color has been changed in green .. so tell me how it has chaged and now wat do to do?...

This can happen dur to the following reasons
1. Monitor cable that is connected to the tower may be loose, disconnect it and reseat it properly.
2. Monitor cable is damaged, please check if the cable is pressed against some thing and damaged, if so you can detach the monitor cable and buy a new cable.
3. Monitor is faulty, the color functionality electronics is bad, this can be rectified by a monitor service personnel.
4. Display card is faulty (onboard or add on), to check if this is not the scenario - Disconnect the monitor from the tower and turn of the monitor and the switch it on you should be seeing colored bars, if the colours are looking good then the monitor is fine and the display card is faulty.

Please check the above steps one by one and reply to this post in case you are unable to narrow down the cause. Thank you for contacting Fixya.

Describe your dell dimension E521 wont boot and Problem my computer turns on but doesn't open it goes to a black screen with little flashing bar in top left corner nothing new was installed but there...

The 123 lights on tower translates as:

Routine system activity subsequent to video initialization.
Watch your monitor for on-screen messages.

Disconnect the video cable from the computer and see if you get floating color bars on display. If not, your monitor is defective.

Montior screen is half shaded and half bright

Do this to check if your monitor is in working state or not...!

Step 1:- Turn on your computer.
Step 2:- Unplug the Video Cable of your monitor which is connected with the computer.

( Video cable:- Cable going from the back of your monitor to the back of your tower. It has a plug with two screws on the plug ends, which you can unscrew to unplug it. Thats how it looks like. Some times it is in grey in color some times in blue.)

Step 3:- Now check on your monitor. If the display says " No Input Signal " :- your monitor is fine. Some thing wrong with the computer graphics.
If there is not display and the monitor light is blinking or solid the monitor has gone bad.

( Note :- Remember when you unplug the video cable do not unplug the power cable of the monitor. )

Let me know if it helps.

Monitor just goes blank suddenly - goes white, black, blue, green even been brown- can happen any time - today about 4 times yesterday just once. Only thing I can do is hold on/off switch till computer...

Take a look at the back of the monitor there must be a cable which is connected at the back of your computer tower.

If you take a look at the back of your computer tower you will see that cable has a big plug with two screws on the top of it. It could be blue in color or may be grey. ( The name of that cable is Video cable )

Now what you have to do is to take that cable out of the computer. Now switch on the computer.

If you see a message on the screen saying " NO INPUT SIGNAL " :- That means your monitor is fine. If it does not shows that. Then your monitor is bad.

Remember the power cable of the monitor should be connected while doing the above steps.

Now incase you can see the "NO INPUT SIGNAL " message on the screen. Even then the problem persist.

It might be possible that the Video cable has gone bad. You need to consult a hardware technician for your monitor.

Try this and let me know if it helps.

do you mean the processor fan that is located near on the left top corner on the motherboard? if that stopped working then turn of your pc immediately. probably the cpu overheated. if that fan does not work replace it immediately as it will burn the cpu.

Black Screen

Look in the back of the Gateway where you currently have the video cable connected. If there are two connectors, (Side by Side) there than disconnect & re-connect to the other. Your display should come up. Don't be fooled. Most Pc's that have no display on their monitor is not a monitor problem but a computer problem.
