ActiveSync is not available for Windows 7, however you can use Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center that will do the same thing: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=46f72df1-e46a-4a5f-a791-09f07aaa1914
I have the same problem. Activesynk version 4.00 installed from original CD which I got with i-mate JAQ but I saw the message on computer display, minimum requirement is version 4.1 so I get 4.1.4841.0 and installed but status shows connecting but it does not connect.
The i-mate pda2k is not a 3g phone! its only a 2g phone. But you can connect to the internet by using your wireless lan and GPRS.To connect to your computer, go to your phone settings menu then select "connect phone as modem",this will give you the option of connecting through GPRS or otherwise. You must have your settings set up properly to use this feature.
atta, you are asking a different question, not the same problem. YOU want to use bluetooth to transfer files. The other guy wants to use his phone as a dun.
so, for the other guy.
On this particular phone, only bluetooth dial up networking will work. It will not work as a cable connection. You have to pair the phone with the computer, then set up a connection under dial up networking as a bluetooth modem. The phone number will depend on the network. As I don't know your operating system, I don't know which dun to set up or how to set up your specific bluetooth pairing.
connecting the i-mate to computer using bluetooth is a good and a fast way and give you the an option to connect more than one device,
you can connect through bluetooth with this procesure :
step one: set up a bluetooth COM port :

On the Options tab, select Turn discovery on and Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer.

3- Select Incoming (device initiates the connection) and click OK.
4- Note the number of the COM port that was added. The COM port number must be no higher than 20.
5- Click OK to close the Bluetooth Devices Control Panel.
1- In ActiveSync on the PC, on the File menu, click Connection Settings.
2- Select Allow connections to one of the following.
3- Choose the COM Port with the number you noted in Step 1 Set up a Bluetooth COM port.
4- Click OK.
Step 3 Start Bluetooth sync from your device:
In ActiveSync on the device, tap Menu, then tap Connect via Bluetooth.
that's all... and i am waiting for your replay
