Maytag fav6800 wont finish the rince cycle and reads error code Dc. Open lid and water is in with the clothes .One local repair guy told me its the door switch . can you advise thanks Ron
Hello Ron, I’m an owner/DIY’er I will try to help. I’ll go out on a limb here and say that you are experiencing a classic clutch malfunction with this machine but I could be wrong. Let’s not shoot from the hip with the door switch response and troubleshoot the problem. If you can take the time to read through my post of Jan 29

and try the first two troubleshooting steps to determine if the “dc” errors are caused by a clutch malfunction causing the tumblers to rotate in the wash basket while in spin cycle . If your handy and can tolerate some down time to troubleshoot/repair the issue you might be able to extend the service life of your $1K machine with low out of pocket $. See the links in the above post of responses by a couple of forum members who had these errors and were able to perform the maintenance fix I performed. Our issue was a clutch maintenance issue not a hard failure. I would have replaced the clutch if the spring was broken or bearings rusted out. The 2nd forum member comments are buried down in several comments. Please take a look at the Service Manual

and see if you feel OK to pull the clutch out of the machine page 47 has the details. It’s a tight work area but can be removed and replaced without pulling the tub out of the machine. I did jack up the tub a bit to get a 3/8” socket wrench in there to remove the clutch pulley bolt and drop the clutch out of the machine.
I repaired my machine with several shots of WD-40 to clean up and re-lube clutch roller bearings, no hard failure just maintenance of a poor design. My machine failed at the 3.5yr mark. Good luck, Rich.
Ron, just a follow up on the dumping the remaining water in the tub when failing in spin cycle. Go to the SM page 16 enter into Service Mode and go to Board Output Test and in that function you can turn on the drain pump to pump out the excess water in the tub. Hit the off button to turn off this manual function when satisfied or wait for the function to time out. This issue of failing in Spin Cycle is a pain, hang in there.
