I9 phone does not recognize the USB connection with the computer

I9 does not recognize the usb connection. When I go to Java Software on the i9, the message comes out none installed yet the two games that came with the i9 are functioning. Question is, do I need to install Java and if so how. This all came about when I attempted to put files on my memory card thinking I could see them with the phone and cannot do so. A friend told me the only way to be able to see the files is to put them on via a USB connection with the i9 phone. Presently have prepay plan. Any ideas as to what is happening and how to see files or get files onto the phone, to include attaching a wireless device to my computer which the bluetooth can connect to.

Plug in the phone while it is turned off. It should update the drivers. If that doesnt work turn off the phone and the computer. Plug the phone in to the computer and turn the computer back on.

CECT i9 stopped communicating with PC

Is it the same computer you've always used? It could be the OS not recognizing your phone or a bad USB port, if it is the same computer, most likely it's your phone. Try doing a firmware update and see if that helps. You'll have to use a microSD adapter to save it to your card since the cable doesn't work.

Cannot connect to computer

FIRST OF ALL, NEVER EVER PLUG IT INTO THE COMPUTER WHILE ITS ON. ALWAYS TURN THE PHONE OFF BEFORE HAND. AS FAR AS YOUR COMPUTER NOT RECOGNIZING THE USB CABLE, IT MAY ACTUALLY BE YOUR COMPUTER. AFTER ALL IF IT WAS THE CABLE, YOUR PHONE WOULDN'T CHARGE SINCE IT IS THE SAME CABLE FOR CHARGING AND USB CONNECTIONS. MY COMPUTER HAS HAD TROUBLE SEVERAL TIMES WHEN PLUGGING IN NEW OR DIFFERENT DEVICES INTO THE PORT. TO CHECK THE USB PORT ON YOUR COMPUTER.... GO TO CONTROL PANEL, THEN DEVICE MANAGER. DOUBLE CLICK UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS. IF ANY OF THEM ARENT WORKING PROPERLY THERE WILL BE A YELLOW TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMTION POINT BESIDE THE UNFUNCTIONING USB. IF IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING YOU WILL HAVE TO UPDATE THE DRIVER. IF YOUR PORTS, DRIVERS ETC DONT SHOW THE YELLOW TRIANGLE, THEY ARE WORKING. TRY PLUGGING THE PHONE INTO A DIFFERENT PORT UNTIL YOU FIND ONE THAT WILL ACCEPT IT. I HAVE A LAPTOP AND MY PHONE ISNT RECOGNIZED IN THE SAME USB PORT (ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE COMPUTER) THAT I USE FOR MY PRINTER. I USE A DIFFERENT PORT FOR MY CELL PHONE. IF YOUR COMPUTER IS OLDER , THE USB PORT MAY NOT BE HIGH SPEED. OLDER COMPUTERS HAVE USB PORTS WITH A SPEED OF 1x OR A MIX OF PORTS WITH 1x AND 2.O (2.0 IS HIGHSPEED 1x IS NOT). I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I NEED HELP REPAIRING MY I9 SCREEN

There are basically two ways to do this. You can get online to the Java website via your WAP browser and enter in the code for the CECT installation ((wap.GetJar.com and then quick the download code 30827.) I usually download via USB though as this puts a copy onto my computer (in case it accidentally gets deleted) and it doesn?t cost any money or data to do this. For the Java installation, go to the get jar website. Make sure that you have the device set to CECT A100 (the CECT default.) Connect the phone to the computer via USB. Hit the mass storage icon on the phone. Click on the jar file that you want to download. Click save. Next, find the drive that your phone is listed under. (For me, this is K:/, but it may be something different in your case.) Click OK. Then, unhook the phone from the USB. Go into the document icon on the phone. Find the received file and then scroll down until you see the browser and click it. Then click ?install.? Now, you?ll go into Java icon. You?ll see the browser in the list of Java files. Then click launch. Opera should launch and you can start browsing. Most often, when something goes wrong here, it?s because the data, WAP or Java settings aren?t correct. You?ll need to go in and set them up depending upon your carrier. For example, if you use T Mobile, you?ll need to input the T Mobile WAP, port, and data settings. Typically, you set the data first, then the GPRS, the WAP, and the MMS. Finally, go into the JAVA settings and make sure that T Mobile (or AT&T, or which ever carrier that you are using) is reflected. There are many resources that will give you the Internet settings for almost every applicable carrier that you can think of. If for some reason you can?t get online, I?d check to make sure the phone isn?t set to the original Chinese or factory settings. My computer does not recognise my CECT i9 phone

Switch the phone on, then connect. You should have 3 options; Mass Storage, Webcam and PictBridge. Select Mass Storage. Depending on your system on your PC will connect immediately or maybe (older model) ask for driver. Driver for mass storage is 'generic' so will install automaticaly. After that go to 'my computer' and there will be 2 (!!!) new 'drives', the first one the external card on your phone, the second one the internal drive of your phone.

Dont know which java to dawnload and how to do it.

http://www.i9forum.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1175
Link to Java
I am runnin I9 firmware on my I68, but it should be the same.
Firstly connect your i9 to your PC via the USB cable.
The i9 will then ask how you want it to connect to the PC.
You need to select “Mass Storage”.
Once this has been done the i9 will appear as 2 new drives in explorer.
One drive will be around 2MB in size. This is the i9’s internal memory.
The second drive will be the MicroSD card.

All you do is copy the Java (jar/jad) file(s) into ANY folder you want on
the MicroSD card. You DO NOT extract a jad/jar file, you have to move the whole
file as it is, so DO NOT use a compression utility program like Winzip or Winrar
on these files to extract their contents, just use File Explorer to move the ENTIRE jar/jad file as
a single complete file! If you do try extract the contents of a ".jar" file, all you will get is a list of files that you
will not be able to do anything with, so DO NOT try to extract a file with the ".jar" extension!
Next, you then need to unplug the i9 from the USB cable & the computer.
Then from the main menu of the i9 go into the “Documents” menu or "File manager".
Navigate to the folder where you copied the Java jar/jad files.
Select the Java jar/jad file you want to install & select “options”.
When the options screen appears, you just select “install”.
If the program has both jad & jar files for it, use the JAD file for the install
but make sure to have both the jad & jar together in the same i9 install folder.
The Java program will then begin to install & will usually ask where you want the program installed.
Just select your MicroSD card & that’s it. After first installing the game the phone will prompt
you if you want to run the program now. If you choose No you will be taken back to the File
Manager to continue, if you choose Yes, then the program or game will try to run immediately.
When you want to run the Java program at any time after the install, go to the Main menu &
select the Java icon. Your program will be there.

If you navigate to the folder on your i9 phone using the File manager & you select one of the
newly transferred jar or jad files, & you do not get the "Install" option to show up as one of
the options (you may see the options forward, delete, copy, & others), then the file could be
corrupt, is not actually a jad or jar Java install file, or you have a version phone which just
does not allow Java programs to be user installed. Many members have made this mistake,
where they purchased a phone with Java games installed on the phone, but the phone version
just won't allow new Java programs to be installed because there isn't an option to install any.
If that is the case, then this can't be changed, as it just isn't an available option for the phone
or it's firmware. The only remedy for you would be to find a firmware which has an installable
Java menu option that would work on your particular version phone. Don't ask for one to be supplied,
because if it isn't already in the MASTER Download List linked earlier or in the Firmware Collection
sticky thread in the Firmware section of the forum, then we just don't have one to offer you.

If you are getting "out of memory" or "memory filled" when transferring files to the phone, please make
100% certain you are looking at the correct newly connected i9 drives which should have come up when
you plugged the phone into the computer & chose "mass storage" device on the phone, & you are
not incorrectly trying to move files to another drive on your system like those that would show up if
you have a USB card reader connected to the PC, an internal card reader, or even a printer which has a
built-in card reader, as they all get drive letters too. Make sure you have the right drives of the phone!
This error can also come up if you are trying to transfer the files to the phones internal memory instead
of transferring it to the MicroSD card.

Please tell me exactly how to put java apps and movies on the i9

Ok, Its pretty simple to add java apps/games and movies to your i9. just

1) connect your phone to your pc via the usb.

2) go into your i9 phones memory card (the first of the two letters) i.e I = phone memory , H = memory card.. so go into the H drive.

3) Create a folder call 'JAVA' and simply drag your downloaded apps/games from your pc into your 'JAVA' folder on your memory card!

4) When you disconnect you phone, go to java in your phone menu then you can install the apps/games.
(step 3 only need to create 'java' folder once)

For movies
1) repeat step 1 and 2 above ^^
2) drag the movies from your pc into 'Movies' folder on memory card
3) disconnect phone from pc and you can now watch on your phone!
Note: i9 phone supports 3GP, AVI format only.

Free games for i9 phones

The CECT i9 and i68+ have JAVA. Unfortunately, most of the free JAVA games out there, are designed for keypad input. You will have to look for specifically "touch screen" apps and games. And among those, not all of them will work. I am afraid it's going to be "trial and error" for a while.

As for HOW to load the JAVA apps and games on your CECT i9, here's how:

On your computer, with the i9 plugged in with the USB cable, drag the JAR or JAD files into the "RECEIVED" folder. After you're finished with everything you want to add, disconnect the i9. Touch your DOCUMENTS button, then "memory card," then "received," you will see your JAR/JAD files listed. Touch the file you want to install. The next screen, choose INSTALL. It will bring you back to the menu choices of "phone" or "memory card." Choose PHONE and select YES. It should give you a message when it has successfully installed. Then exit out to the main screen, touch the JAVA button. Select "Installed Java Software" and you should be able to use your newly installed JAVA apps and games.

Hope that helps.
