Re: Radio code for 96 Acura
If you dont have the code in the owners manual or with the papers with the car your going to have to call your local acura dealer and give them your vin/serial number and they can look up the radio code for you.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Is this stereo the one that came with your car? If so call up honda or acura customers relations and if they cant help you they can give you a number that can. You will need your stereo serial # or your VIN # to get the code. They will ask you a couple questions before giving you the number; your name your address. Here is a phone number that is toll free for Acura 1-800-382-2238..... You may ask why Acura, well to tell you the truth Acura is just a higher priced higher end Honda!!!!! ;-) I hope this works for you. It did for me.
you need to take that number and bring it to your local acura dealership..or any for that matter and they will take that serial number, and look up the code..as far as i know, that is the only way to do it with out the actual radio code
You need to get the serial number off the sticker attached to the radio. It will require pulling apart your dash. Call an Acura dealership with that serial number and they should be able to provide you the code. Or you can take it directly to the dealer but you will be charged labor.
You have to go to an Acura dealer and they will be able to give you the code when you give them the serial number.
Also keep in mind that Acura is known to put the radio code on a sticker, place in an odd location of your car, such as the trunk, glovebox, etc.
Furthermore, you don't have to remove the head unit in order to find out its serial number. Just follow the instructions below:
RETRIEVING THE AUDIO UNIT SERIAL NUMBER
To reduce warranty and customer costs whenever an anti-theft code is lost, the audio unit’s serial number can be retrieved without having to remove the unit. To recall the serial number, follow these steps:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the accessory (I) position.
2. Turn on the audio unit. Make sure “CODE” appears on the display.
3. Turn off the audio unit.
4. Press and hold the number 1 and number 6 preset buttons at the same time, and then turn on the unit. The serial number will appear in two parts – the first four digits followed by the last four digits, and then the sequence will repeat.
5. Enter these eight digits into DCS to retrieve the antitheft code.
if its an acura radio, and you dont have a radio code, you'll need serial #off of radio itself(requires removal).once ou have serial # you can go to any acura dealer with s/n and they can retrive working radio code from that radio through honda corporation.without that 5 digit code radio is useless.
if you dont have the code in the owners manual or with the papers that came with the car, then your gonna have to call your local acura dealer and talk to someone in tech services and they can look up your vin/serial number and give you the code.
Well, ive solved my own radio problem LoLz! On my 1996 Acura Integra LS-S the serial number is located on the back of the radio. The dealership told me to bring it in and they will remove my radio for $9O. That's ridiculous. If you can remove it yourself then you save ninety dollars. Or just do what i did...I squeezed my lil a** under the steering wheel and peeked behind the indash thingy where the radio is held and with a flashlight i was just barely able to see the serial number. I dont know if the serial numbers are all the same for all the makes, models and years like mine. But heres what i got. The serial number is: PH22481 the code for the radio is 26162. I called my local Honda dealer and gave the serial number and they gave me the code over the phone. If it doesnt work try disconnecting the battery for about 6O seconds and try again. Good luck and i hope this helps. FOR I FINALLY HAVE MUSIC!!!! YAY!!!
You will need to find your radio serial number...this is how you can do it on a 2001 MDX
Press preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time.
Turn on radio.
An 10 digit serial number will appear on display. make sure to include the small numbers or letters as well. This only works if the radio is locked. After getting the radio serial number you will need your VIN number...call the dealership where you purchased the vehicle and give them both numbers and they can get it for you...thats the only way I know how to get the code.
