Hi, You have selected "native" in the video menu which means it will switch to exactly the format being broadcast, like a full screen on a movie and then four inch bars on the sides for a commercial. Change your video setup to display a format other than native. It will still switch if your satellite box has these options as well, so check both. Good Luck, hope this Fixsya!

I lost the original remote to my 27'' television

very sorry for that but you can be changing channel manually on the tv channel buttons, if you sweep on all channels you can go to AV from RF channels, that is before you buy a remote.

Wide screen

Normallly, if the picture size button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made.
For example:
A Motorola Cable box needs to be set up to go to a wide screen or zoom when an analog signal is detected.
Some Dish Network boxes have Size buttons on their remotes and also in their main menu.
The name of the button on the remote is called format.
It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the types of the peripherals.
Hope this helps.

Digital reception

Check the menu screen to see if you have an option to program digital channels . If not the answer is no . If you are on cable or satelite then you need not worry as the only people who will be affected by the digital change over will be if your on outdoor antenna or rabbitt ears only with your tv. Your cable and satelite providers will not change you over on feb 19th 2009 . Everythung will be the same . Good luck

Won't tune in all channels

Do you mean the channels from the internal tuner which would be channels 22 to 68, or do you mean satelite channels, as I do not know whether this set has a built in satelite receiver? Satelite broadcasters are often changing frequencies or satelites.- Programs come and go!
