My Bosch frostfree fridge freezer keeps icing up!

I have a Bosch (KGU32121 I think) fridge freezer, which is supposed to be frost-free, and the freezer ices up under the bottom drawer within a few days. I have seen many suggestions to take the back panel off. I did this from inside the freezer but didn't really know what I was looking for, and now I don't think my freezer is getting cold at all - PLEASE HELP!!

My Bosch Frost Free Fridge Freezer did the same thing - Ice forming in the bottom of the freezer area after a few days.

It was caused by a blocked drain pipe - When the freezer does the de-frosting cycle, the melted ice drips into a tray and tehn runs into a dish on top of teh compressor, through a pipe.

If this pipe gets blocked, the de frosted ice overflows from the tray and overflows into the bottom of the freezer and then re-freezes !

To fix, pull the freezer away form the wall, locate the pipe that runs to the dish on top of the compressor and blow through it - This should clear it. Alternatively, from inside the freezer compartment, pull off the cover at the back, but the clips holding it on will probably break off, as mine did ! You can sort of push the cover back on and re-fit the food draws.

I had the same problem with my bosch fridge\freezer. The pipe Warren refers to can be easily pulled off at the bottom. Gungy water came out. I then connected a hose/tube to the pipe to make it easier to blow into it. Problem cleared, mo sign of icing up for over 2 weeks now. Many thanks to Warren!

Sheet of ice forms in bottom of freezer

Frost free fidges are supposed to stay frost free because the automatically defrost regularly. When they do this they may drain water down to the bottom of your fridge. Look for a tray that catches this water underneath the unit. Make sure yo keep it emptied. If you live in a very warm climate you may be getting a lot of humidity inside. There may be a switch that you can change for lower moisture.

Bosch Frost Free Frdge Freezer Icing Up

Switch off fridge. Put a pedistal fan in front blowing into the cabinet and leave until all ice has defrosted. Locate the drain hole in the back of the freezer compartment, try to defrost ice which blockes up about the first inch or two of this pipe. If water does not run through you need to force it through with a turkey baster. This should sort your problem. ratemeplease
