1 usb port on toshiba satellite c660 doesn't recognize mouse

If is just a USB port, then it could be a driver problem, or that USB hub is turn off, or is a fried/bad USB port. Try another USB device on that port too.

USB mouse block the POST

Sounds like it is trying to treat the mouse as a boot device. Check the bois under boot devices and try to disable booting from USB. If this works, and you need to boot from a USB device at times, go back into the bios and re-enable boot from USB. Then change your boot order.
Hope this helps

Mouse cursor wont move

If it is a regular mouse, check the prongs and make sure none are not bent. If the are bent they won't make a connection. If it is a USB mouse try using another USB port. If you have access to another computer connect your mouse to it to make sure the mouse is not faulty.

My mouse is not working properly. My buttons work but my cursor doesn't move. The light goes on on the top but the light does not light on the bottom.

make sure the battery is good ((has full charge))also you make sure the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable) or if its a lead
make sure the lead from the mouse has a secure seating and the lead is not bad/faulty
((if applicable)) if this fails to fix the problem you could try it in safe mode
restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to mice and other pointing devices you might see a yellow exclamation mark ! or question mark ? or a red x right click to update driver
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the driver could be on it
hope this helps

How to install wirless mouse

It depends on the wireless technology used by the mouse.

1. Infrared
If your mouse used Infrared for communicating with your PC, you will have to place an Infrared receiver on your desk, in line with the mouse you want to install. You will definitely have to install the drivers supplied with the mouse/Infrared receiver.

2. Bluetooth
If the mouse uses Bluetooth, first you either will have to install a Bluetooth dongle on your PC/Laptop (if it doesn't have Bluetooth integrated) or activate the Bluetooth on your PC/Laptop. Then, using the Bluetooth software supplied with the dongle or PC/Laptop, search for new devices and choose the mouse to pair with. You may have to install the software provided with the mouse for if to work.

I bought a "mini wireless

First check to see if it is windows compatible and for which version. If windows vista is a comptabile version then you are good to go. For drivers, if windows does not reconize the hardware and cannot install it automatically then yes a driver is needed, normally in this kind of stuff like mouse and keyboard it usually plug and play and windows should easily reconize it unless it was built for mac.
For a wireless mouse, it should come with a usb thumb transmitter and the mouse itself. Under the mouse should be a button that you need to press in order for the computer to reconzie it. Turn on your computer with the usb thumb adapter (transmitter) plug in, then under the mouse or somewhere on the mouse, there should be a button, ( small button) press this button and then see if mouse work. If a manual was provided, please look it over. If mouse don't work, then you got a bad transmitter, and will need to return this to back to the store if it's still under return deadline
