Question about Abit NF7-S V2 Motherboard

1 Answer

Every day at 1-st turning on all BIOS are in initial def. state.

I have a computer with Abit NF7-S v2 Motherboard and Athlon 3200 CPU and nf7d27s.exe reinstalled BIOS ver. 4.5....
Since I have installed this new version of BIOS computer can not load the Windows 98SE system, that is placed on the partition C: of the 1-st physical drive. But it normally loaded all others Windows XP systems that are installed.
But now every time after my computer in switching-off state becomes cool when I try to switch it on, all my pre-installed parameters of BIOS throw down to initial default states.
And every time I am forced to restore them.
What I must do to amend up these faults?

I'm greateful for your advising though I have already coped with the second problem before than I've red it (by the simple replacement of the battery that supplies CMOS). But the first problem (with installation Windows 98 ) remains jet. I suspect, that before jet I have inadvertently corrupted MBR on the first physical drive. Besides that I have a problem with the second physical drive: when I boot up my computer from a DOS disket, the Partition Magic of ver. 7 nor of ver. 8 can not see the drive 2 (SATA disk, though drive 1 is a SATA disk too) . After booting with Windows XP both version of Partition Magic works normally.

I suggest you may try to check and replace the motherboard battery prior doing other procedures.

I installed everything the CPU, RAM, and everything else. Connected all switches at the right places and the BIOS is on normal operation. I turn on the computer and its a blank screen nothing shows up....

ok, looking at the specifications All I can recommend is the following. double check the Video card to make sure it is properly seated and that it does not exceed the capabilities of the motherboard. 2 Disconnect everything from the motherboard except the CPU and case wiring/power supply and turn the computer on. If the system completes the post test, you will hear at least 1 beep and should hear several for the video card not being connected, then start installing components 1 at a time till you find the one causing the problem. Start with the Video card and then the ram as these are most likely where your problem is unless you have a faulty power supply which will be the problem if you don't get a completed post with nothing else connected.

Abit NF7-s - hynix ram support problem

The problem probably is you mixing fsb speed, all the cards should
be pc3200 or all of them should be pc2700.

You don't mix.
