Does Motoroloa make a mic with controls in the head for the MCS2000?
It's very unusual to find a commercial radio with channel buttons on the microphone, however, with a bit of ingenuity, you should be able to do this. You need to connect two additional wires to the mic connector on the radio and replace the microphone with one that has the buttons. Connect each od these wires to the UP and DOWN buttons on the front panel. You will have to locate two pins on the mic connector that aren't being used. Usually there are a few available. You may have to disconnect two that are being used for the programming function if you don't have any available. This will have to be changed back to the programming function if you want to program the radio again. Connect the two wires in the microphone head to the up and down switches, and there you go. The other pin on the switches most likely connect to ground. You may have to get another mic cord if the one on your present microphone doesn't have any spares.
